Remind Me Please: "No Hats" Viera/Hrothgar

Does anyone recall if a reason, any reason at all, was given from Yoshida or any other member working on FFXIV that addresses why Viera nor Hrothgar can wear most hats? Or is it the white elephant that they never want to address?

I haven't been around nearly as long as many others, so I definitely could have missed out on the 'official' reason. If anyone can enlighten or share their knowledge here, I'd be happy to see what the rationale was (if it was ever addressed).

Originally Viera and ronso were not suppose to get hats at all due to the unique faces/head structure if you look at Viera some hairstyles have hat built into it, so ya

They just never went in and add more unquie structures for ronso/bunnys like they originally were suppose to be about.

It was suppose to be a trade off no hats for more beast like character models/beastly faces and hair but they didn't do more for them than base

I'm still sad they doubled down on the hroth face-locked hair when the ladies got added.... could have been a great start to making them less limited in looks

As others have said, their reasoning essentially boiled down to needing to create unique head/faces for them, so headgear doesn't work the typical way it does on other race models.

They did say this when originally announced for release, and that they would have unique hairstyles and such to account for this.
