Sorry, but you're not going to force people to choke down something they don't like, and if it gets bad enough to make some people disengage with and criticize the content, that's on Square-Enix for designing it that way.

Personally I have no desire to ever do Occult Crescent because nothing about it sounds fun or appealing, least of all the FATE farming and RNG, and it's not my fault that I don't enjoy those things.

Having now finished the Demiatma step, my sole issue with it is how unbalanced the Atmas are in themselves, specifically as I mentioned in another thread, Verdigris is by far the rarest, and unless someone has a very lob-sided RNG pattern, which entirely possible, it will become a bottleneck, perhaps something could be done, like either give this specific Demiatma a boosted drop rate, but that's about it.

And I would agree with that given that I already wrote that the concept of fates has certainly much needed room for improvement.

I like the fates in that zone themselves (mechanics, fight design).
I can understand why people don’t like fates as they are BUT I disagree to brush them off as being no content or that I try to force people into liking them.

It’s honestly as if this whole forum is against the notion that people can like content as it is sometimes.
And I absolutely do not hide my disdain for how DT was to this point.


I already wrote it somewhere else in the past.
I criticism the devs if there are things to criticize and I give them praise if I think they did good work.
That is all my opinion though, not a fact, not a neutral stance (I like field zones in themselves arlready) nor am I infailable.
I am just someone who likes this content and I am seriously annoyed in people putting words in my mouth (me forcing something).

So now we arrive at the problem that's plagued this game for years; Every expansion/patch seems tailored made to make sure someone gets screwed over and potentially ends up with nothing, or worse, they're made to do content they hate just to get the one thing they wanted.

That’s reality though. You can never make everyone happy.
We all knew beforehand what the field zone would be like and that we would get a grind back.
You are not bared from obtaining the relics just because you don’t like the fates.
You are not forced to do anything.
If to detest a gameplay aspect so much then don’t do it. Simple as that.
I also hate fishing but I just don’t do it.

It's RNG. There's always going to be someone with more luck then you. Comparing your progress to others will do nothing but upset you.
It's like getting pissed that someone got an ex mount before the 99 totems. Overall, it's pointless since it doesn't change your grind.
You can be upset about it being RNG. I ain't going to stop you. Heck, I even agree that the drop rates are a bit low. But when you compare and get upset, that's on you.

One thing I've learned from short-sided rng grind bullshit is never compare yourself to someone else. It will only make you feel worse and make you want to quit. It's not your fault the developers are incompetent morons.

They will nerf it because of the mountain of feedback I've seen on just about every social media platform I use. There's no way this will go into the next step unaltered and if does it's just more incompetence from them. And at that point, they deserve the lost revenue from lapsing subscriptions. But unfortunately, this game has a boatload of shills who buy everything Square-Enix touches so it might go unnoticed, but I will say I've never seen this much anger in a system since the original atmas. You'd think they would've learned the last time...

I really had fun in the new zone, but had to leave it and waste some hours hoping to get the missing two atmas doing regular fates without luck, after I reached 21 in OC with multiple beeing more then the required 3 per type.

So annoying having to stop playing the zone and leveling the phantom jobs, because I could possibly play another 10 hours or more without getting the one type of atma that is missing to complete the first weapon.

I wonder if this is more of the "friction" Yoshi-P promised by grinding people down to the bone because of RNG.

It's like every decision they've made this expansion has been for the sole purpose of pissing off as many people as possible while pleasing only a handful (if even that many).

I'm not even sure it's friction they are aiming for... Based on what they've been doing and how they've been doing it, I don't really think they have any direction in mind, and I think generally they are just trying to throw random ideas out there.

Honestly, I am going to be a bit of a.... and just say this, that I don't even think people are pleased with what the grind is or how the grind is, I just think they are pleased that they actually had something to do which wasn't just them logging in and getting their first relic for free. Like, I unironically think they could have done literally anything that wasn't just freebie tomes and they'd actually be happy with it.
