There has NEVER been an institutionalized 'irrational fear' of hetersosexuals. THAT is the difference. It is WILD to me that this is even a discussion.

I can't say anything about Trump supporters other than a video I saw (I'm not from America). But groups of people in general following an ideology can be unpleasant, whilst I think no group is objectively evil. Groups are made up of individuals many of whom are likely much nicer than the group, I think many groups may look evil because of media framing (we live in a time of propaganda that'd make Stalin blush). They may simply have have parts to them which are bad and this is all we have seen. I saw a video of a young black male walk into the middle of a Trump rally and every single person was kind to him and shook his hand, they didn't all know they were on camera, I wouldn't see this on the news. Exterminate is a very strong and serious word, I've not seen this rhetoric in the news (though news today is just propaganda) I would hope no one would begin to think of doing that, because it's pure tyranny, and I'd not personally vote for any bill that could even allow such thing as a discussion. Democrats too will be the same, they'll have people who genuinely want to do good, and some bad, but some people may see them as wholly bad or good.
There is no impure ancestry, everyone started off as a dot on a rock 4 billion years ago. If anyone thinks you're impure than all humans are. Yeah I'm with you on that, I don't like censorship, it's rarely ever a good thing and stifles creativity
Free speech unfortunately has to allow people to offend others whether they realize it or not and whether they intend to or not. And this is where it gets complex, if they didn't intend to nor realize it, should they be persecuted or ostracized? What if what they say isn't hate but an opinion and who decides what constitutes as hate speech, which words fall under it, or the ramifications? Hate speech is a word already used by governments at least as a tool for tyranny (deliberately obfuscated definitions so one cannot know when they'll breach it, and authorities cannot know how to police it giving limitless boundaries) all they need to do then is reinterpret other words to fall under it. If it is just straight up easily defined hate with no attempt to actually discuss something, then yeah people should be called out for that or go away as they aren't trying to seek answers or understand - they're probably just bullies. I'm not up to the DT content yet, personally I'm not bothered who an actor is, all I want is someone that is fitting for the role and good at it (not there simply as a token gesture to tick political boxes). I can't speak for this character or why people dislike the VA to say if it is people being hateful, maybe some are.
Ah death threats? Yeah, prison immediately. Thanks for the additional context, sounds like some people criticized her voice acting and she made some bad remarks online, but others felt a need to make death threats, which won't help anything.
This is essentially censorship and is extremely disrespectful to Yoshitaka Amano.
Agreed 100%.In my personal opinion, SE just doesn't care much for male characters. You won’t convince me otherwise. Almost everything tends to be worse for male characters.
I’d really love to play a handsome male character, and I’ve mostly played male in this game. But since 2015, nothing significant has happened to improve the situation for them. They’re still at a clear disadvantage most of the time.
The real issue isn't just the repeated gender-locked gear like tights, skirts, and dresses. The deeper problem is that all male models follow the same design direction—there’s no truly slim and/or small androgynous type like you often see in anime or similar media or in FF14 for some NPC's. And that male glamours, in general, are usually really dull and lack creativity.
I’m against all forms of gender-locked content. But my main complaint is that male characters are overall at a big disadvantage. Players should have the freedom to express themselves however they want—this includes emotes, too. Gender-locked emotes and poses are, in my opinion, just as bad. Also not every female always wants to act like a 100% sterotype girly girl.
Right now, I’ve given up on playing true male characters in this game. I’ve tried since 2015, but nothing has ever really improved. At this point, I’ve lost all hope.
This post nails it.Female characters should also get pants, male characters should also get garter belts. They keep using this formula of female: tons of skin showing, shorts/skirts, no pants, random slits in clothing and male: boring, flat, pants, no skin showing designs and it's honestly getting immensely boring and disappointing. This at this point isn't even about wanting to see a cute bunny boy in short shorts, but it's harming people who play female characters a lot too. I can't put my female Viera in 60% of gear just because it's too girly and frilly for her aesthetic. Also what, is it corporate 80's again where women aren't allowed to wear pants again?
That long shirt just ruins the whole silhouette, and it's not like cropped shirts for male outfits *aren't* a thing. The male Viera race gear HAS a cropped top ffs.
And this is just... no. I really am not a big fan of when they make such big changes from male to female that it looks like two separate glam sets.
It's not just the clothing though, it's the body itself too. Female characters are depicted normally and get a breast size slider, but a slider for male anatomy, oh no can't have that. Male characters don't even have nipples and are as anatomically correct as a Ken doll. It's just cringe.
miera don't deserve nice things sorry
A fool only stays a fool if they refuse to listen and learn. If you listen and learn then foolishness can turn into wisdom.
Gear for women looking like it does in most MMOs is the reason I usually reach for a male character. If I play a tank, I want to look like a damn tank, not run around in a metal bikini. Admittedly, XIV is better with this than most other MMOs I've come across, but a lot of the female versions still get shorts and skirts for no good reason. I'm not saying we shouldn't get those at all, of course. I'd be happiest if we always got two versions of gear that work for everyone - a "reasonable" one (aka what male characters tend to get) and a "fantasy" one (the one women usually get).
While we're at it, can we also please stop giving male characters ugly potato sacks while female characters get gorgeous dresses and pretty robes? That'd be really nice.
Adding support to the original post.
Stop genderlocking gear and give us access to both models, either with separate models or a toggle that lets us pick the one we want regardless of gender.
This type of gear still popping up after devs started un-genderlocking things AND giving us multiple models for other pieces (like Wintertide as a recent example) feels awful and arbitrary.
Let the boys wear the sexy stuff and let the gals have pants, too. Thank you.
idk why i'm still watching this trainwreck but the nazis called their party that for propagandistic reasons, not because they were actually socialists. fascism's origins lie in the protection of capital interests and the breaking of labour unions and the gains they had made, in both italy and germany. they violently suppressed communist and socialist parties in their own countries before anything else and the nazis loved to privatize previously national industries.
read blackshirts and reds by michael parenti, at least a little bit. only looking at old sources doesn't mean you'll be insulated from propaganda. also what in the BBOC is that number

Happy pride month

just a little bump because I still wants devs to see this.
The things I do for the glam...
