This entire thread is literally all opinions (Yes, even my own posts, and yours and everyone else's). You can accept it or be in denial, that's up to you.It is not an opinion though, it's a fact. It's all about tolerance / acceptance of others.
I'm a female miqote and I don't mind if for example a male viera wants to wear a dress, would I do the same thing? Probably not because that's not my style but I can RESPECT that someone else might want to use that on their character and that it won't impact me or my life in any way.
You don't have to agree with everyone's opinion or choices but you can ACCEPT or TOLERATE that they might have a different view and it's ok to let them express themselves the way they want to.
As I said in a previous post, it's fine to have "limits" about decency and the such but you don't get to police what's decent or indecent. If the outfit is not "sexual" in any way for a female, it is not for a male either and vice versa, unless you're literally naked and showing intimate parts. There's no rules that says that a female can have a nice 2b ass but males can't.

bigotry isn't an opinion, news at 11
Comparing apples to oranges there, aren't we? Limiting people's freedom of expression because you're a small-minded bigot and saying people should have freedom of expression are in no way the same thing.
1. Good one, and that comes from the side who gives everyone a "phobic" and/or "other" title as soon as they don't have the same opionen than themselves ~In all honesty? Cry me a river. You are trying to impose your own opinions on everyone else. Eorzea is not Earth. Their culture doesn't have to be the same as the US and Europe. That person got banned for a good reason and I'm glad the mods are finally doing their job for once.
2. Yeah, banning everyone who don't share the opinions of a certain group of people ~
Yeah yeah we know ~ the only valid opinion is your guys opinion and every other opinion is bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, queerphobia etc. it's really annoying, and you know what, a lot of you talk so much about wanting to be respected and accepted, but are not ready to respect and accept others, and this thread shows that very well ~
And no, i am none of those things, because unlike other people, I don't care what gender, sexuality, skin color, etc. someone has ~ there is something that is much more important for me than gender, sexuality and skin color, and that is one's personality.
And to say something on topic ~ remove the "genderlock" or keep it, i don't care, i just want more glams with one feminine and masculine looking version ~ the unisex glams we got in the last months are all a bit määäh.
One last thing, i'm from germany and never really cared to take a look what "bigot" actually means, and öhm...
A person who strongly and unfairly dislikes other people, ideas, etc. ~ a bigoted person especially ~ a person who hates or refuses to accept the members of a particular group ~
A person who is obstinately or unreasonably attached to a belief, opinion, or faction, especially one who is prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group.
If i understood that right, aren't the people who call other people bigots in this thread also bigots ?
And the mods should finally close this thread, because it consists mostly of posts in which people insult each other and accuse each other of things.

What’s the downside for (general) you - other player having more freedom to choose what they want to wear their characters with?
Do you mean me ?
It's not my cup of tea if someone wants to wear a dress or bikini with it's male character, or if someone wants to wear a suit or boxer shorts with it's female character, everyone should wear what they want to wear ~
But that doesn't change the fact that I still don't care whether Square Enix removes the "genderlock" or not, there is no downside for me if other players have more freedom in what they have to choose to wear with their characters ~
Some people want the "genderlock", some people don't want the "genderlock" and some people don't care if there is a "genderlock" or not ~

Thank you. To clarify, it was meant for general ‘you’ than for you specifically. Just trying to steer the topic back into its lane.Do you mean me ?

And whether someone is for a "genderlock or against a "genderlock" on glamour, there is no reason for someone to insult another person or calling them names just because they have a different opinion on something ~

Imagine being mad at people asking for gear not being genderlocked because they are afraid of strong "male" thighs, when you meet a person like Trachtoum in the MSQ on level 30. Not to mention ARR gear like the Star-spangled subligar you get for doing the postmoogle quests. If people dressing their guys in revealing ways in this games comes as such a shock to a person, that person hasn't been paying attention.
Let people express themselves however the heck they want.
(Personally I am tired of getting panties and stuff shoved into my inventory playing a female character while the guys get to wear the pants that are on the actual thumbnail, so yeah, stop with the genderlocked nonsense, offer us both versions so we have a choice.)
As my title said I'd rather gender locked than gender nuetral. Cause damn after yunweta gear how fending ended up with the best one that was literally designed for female use is beyond me. All this gender nuetral gear shows me how sorely lacking the creativity in this game has gone. SE needs to get they head outta they ass and stick to making fun and immersive experience rather than this pandering to 1% of player base thing they are doing. Weird they are but eh it is what it is.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
