It's my pleasure really, it's good for the people with a different opinion to be seen as well !
Uhh yeah, I am a man and I love men, that's my sexuality, I want a man.
If I wanted a woman or an effeminate person, I'd you know, be straight.
Why is that every Masc4Masc gay I run into is some of the worst people in the gay community I have run into ever?
Anyways, the fact that you're a man who wants manly men, doesn't matter.
You wanting things to be "normal" doesn't change any opinions on the matter that clothing is ungendered and that everyone should have access to dress the way they want to.
Also as a gay man, you wouldn't have any of your damn rights without the crossdressers and drag queens and transwomen of stonewall so do sit down.
The things I do for the glam...
This thread has been one wild ride to read.
I wish we could wear the disciples of the land and hand gear on War and Magic classes. That'll get my fashion soul high.
And maybe a toggle to put people around us in default job gear so I can just not see some glam statements the cursed massive frog suits...
Yet again, posts were deleted.
The things I do for the glam...

In case things die down from here, I'll reiterate what I felt were the strongest parts of the posts that got deleted; cross-dressing is hard to separate from homosexual life both culturally and politically. The police advantaged archaic laws about "sex impersonation" to harass gay bars and other public meeting places in the late 60s, targeting drag queens, butches, and of course transgender women and men. Without the ability to gather in public, it would have been impossible to organize, so it was important to resist that harassment and re-assert the right to homosexual and gender non-conforming public life. I say this because arguments against making these glams available for men tend to lean on similar outrage regarding "decency," which comes from an understanding of women's sexual role compared to men's.
If you believe a woman's sexual role is to be degraded by a man, then you'll understand any expression of femininity, womanhood or female sexuality as inherently degrading. People then do not want to see men engage in that sort of thing because they do not want to see men being degraded, but they'll accept it for women, because that's their role. But that admits to a deeply negative and pessimistic attitude towards women. The idea that men could enjoy doing the things women do is deeply disturbing to some people; they need those worlds to stay separate. But in a digital space, the stakes are so low and so unimportant, that it's one of the best times to have that fun. I think that's why people of all genders and sexualities are drawn to games like these and why they have interest in feminine glam options.
If this post gets taken down too, I think that will be a shame, because there's value in talking about the disagreements sincerely. But hey, it's pride month, so what better time to try and make the case for queer dignity. We'll see if this is still up in the morning.
This is exactly why I play a female character otherwise I wouldn't have access to a bunch of pretty gear. It would be nice to have the option for our characters to where whatever without any restrictions.
This is a forum about FFXIV. Stop talking about politics in here. All your doing is getting this thread nuked in the future.
In topic for the thread. I am 100% in favor of letting the players decide if they want to cross dress or not. It's silly to still have gender locked gear.
