Exactly, I just feel like it ends up because people don't like the look of men in those sorts of outfits (but they're perfectly fine with seeing female characters) that they have a weird reaction of "men shouldn't wear X, Y and Z". But in reality if you find that a problem then you should be against gender locking gear to the point men and women should be wearing stuff that shows off no skin. fyi I like your glam it feels actually somewhat fitting in a fantasy setting still x)

That actually makes sense, some of the comments were way too far and it's prolly best not even seen on my quotes, I might just snip their comment next time even if it isn't long because I don't want to broadcast their hateful opinions further

Lol, thanks, but I would say my gatherer/crafter glam is even more scandalous. Black Summer Set with both the Eastern Lady Errant's Gloves and Oracle Leggings dyed double-Gunmetal Black to better match the shiny black of the bikini.

Aside from showing off even more skin/not fitting the fantasy vibe, that's *two* sets of cash shop items I'm a walking advert for, but somehow it's okay to some people for me to be prancing around in that, but the moment a male character tries to pull the same look, now it's a problem. (Incidentally, the Black Summer Set has two variants for male and female, but they're both gender-locked because of course they are.)

im sure enough has been said on this topic for years, but yeah. dont see the point in doing this junk. if it matters i tend to prefer more fully covered glams on everyone, but thats just *my* preference. why should my preference have precedent over others' expressions of their character. cannot imagine thinking 'less choice is good, actually. because i dont like when people make the choice i dont like'. its kind of sad. i play (male) hrothgar, half of them are naked most of the time, you get used to it, world keeps spinning. etc etc

i have alts with fem characters that i wish i could make more masc, because thats the kind of look/vibe i prefer for My characters. so i end up having no gripes with the unisex gear they drop, but that doesnt mean im not for 2 variations of the same outfit that you can choose between. because there are clearly people that arent too fond of it. i want more full pants/loose fit shirts for fem characters, others want more short skirts/dresses/revealing, form fitting stuff, such is the nature of preference. but both can coexist.

also like.. if you dont like it You Control The Glams You Wear. literally no one is gonna make you wear it. for this specific case a lot of ppl are gonna be using the tights, but i cannot imagine anyone willingly using the pants LOL. theyre so plain and boring, ill just use any other pair of pants that looks the exact same that i already have, thanks! not really what you want for specifically vanity gear. its a little (only a little. it still pisses me off) more forgivable if its Actual Gear With Stats but... the problem gear is usually just lv 1 vanity gear. who is it for?????? cowards scared of a little Man Thigh ???????? they probably werent gonna buy the set anyways! god forbid they have to look at someone else wearing it!

sorry for yapping. the concept of genderlocking/gender variants (the latter is worse imo because it means there isnt even a CHANCE it will be unlocked) drives me insane

Let's not run off topic here. While I do think we should be allowed some more body types in character creation, I do think if we turn this into a "there's stuff wrong in character creation", we're losing the plot (and the point).

I would like to bring even more eyes to this and I think we do need to have CBU3 actually address this.

Again, from the picture on the special site, they show an aura woman wearing the outfit with stockings. Why should I not presume this is how it would look on male characters? It's right there in promotional material that this is how it is supposed to look.

And also, they are creating extra work for themselves.

To make mention of the... forbidden tools, through the forbidden tools, we know that lalafell use the same model for both sexes. The female just has bones t move the breast. So most of the time, one item is created, and there is maybe some scaling done, if any at all.

They have done more work, unnecessarily I may add, to make sure men get more boring awful slacks, because lalafell men share the same exact legs. They went out of their way, to create boring legs..

Oh a fun fact about this, Giott of the Shadowbringers Healer Role Quests actually uses a male model, despite being canonically explicitly a woman, this is because she uses a few male emotes, such as /playdead during one of the gag scenes with her, which also helps to hide the twist that she is a lady better until she takes her helmet off, so since there is no difference in the gear she wears, it's easier to just make her use a male model than to port male animations just for her, just an interest bit of trivia around that quirk.

Damn, my Gatherer glam is just Indagator helmet+Hooded Fireglass Leather Vest+the Island Sanctuary shorts+Rebel Boots, and I thought I was on the skimpy side of life for that kind of activity.
