Frankly, I don't particularly want to see anyone in the female version of this leg item. I can look at it and immediately know it'll be the next 2b bottoms: paired with anything and everything, no matter how visually obtrusive the outfit is, because the only thought going through the player's mind when they assembled it was "I want to look at my character's butt cheeks". I dislike that type of outfit. But I'm still able to take a step back and say every player should have the same options. Limiting what players can wear based on their character's gender is an unnecessary restriction on their creativity.

People assume your opinion is based on disgust or hatred because you're saying you want it to be enforced on everyone else. That's generally not something people do with any old matter of taste. Or, for variety, it could also be because your earlier comments in this thread were positive responses to posters who used "gay" as an insult and described gender nonconformity as a "crossdressing fetish". (Edit: Looks like those comments have been removed by moderators.)

But if the same glams are available to everyone, then it's fair game, because nobody is patronizing to you what you "should" wear because of your gender. Does that make sense?
it does yes but I still think it shouldn't be a thing still like yes having better cloth for woman would be good but also most people also sexual voluntary. that's why what they could do is like piece of gear with 2 or 3 option like variant option when you get it that's what I think should happen and same for emote like don't like that one use change pose to have a other option but for clothing. like masculine neutral and masculine feminine version. don't know if you get what I mean here

It's hard to tell because of how you're constructing your sentences, but wouldn't that be just as good as providing glams to everyone?

In the case of this content, there are three FF5 glams you can buy with the new currency. One is Bartz' gear for silver pieces, and the other two are Lenna's and Faris' gear for gold pieces. Bartz's gear is more unisex, Faris' is more masculine (because she disguises herself as a man while captaining her ship, spoilers for ff5) and Lenna is more feminine. This provides a variety of masculine, feminine, and neutral styles for everybody-- except they censored/changed Lenna's gear, but only for men. My argument is they should do exactly what they did-- have a feminine, masculine, and neutral option in content rewards-- but let everybody access it, and not censor certain parts of the outfits for certain people.

we are here to agree and disagree but what I meaning meant is like overall all glam because Lenna is still a female at the end and not a male that's what I believe in like wanna wear it well be a female or do like most will sadly do and use mods to change it on your screen not like 99% of the playerbase use those and gm does nothing against it

    I'm happy to disagree, but I will still ask you to justify your opinion, just like I would expect anybody else to ask me to justify mine. You're free to walk away and don't have to respond to me, but for as long as you do, I'm likely to keep asking critical questions. For example;

If men are men, and women are women, then why is Faris' outfit and character okay? After all, she's female and not male, so should she not dress like that?
If men are men, and women are women, is it not okay to play as the opposite sex character in a video game? You're something of a digital drag queen. If it's okay because it's pretend or virtual, then why doesn't pretend or virtual clothing count?
Have you ever dressed your female character in revealing clothing? Do you think only men should get to do that?

I hope you can see how that's a double standard that objectifies women, and patronizes both genders.

But this only leads to SE doing unisex gear with no variety instead of letting people chose.
That's why the request is to give us *both* version options for all genders.

Why not just create a masculine and feminine option and let the player decide?

Everytime SE does something right (turning a lot of outfits unisex) we get stuff like this.

If SE wants to make a male and female version, then they need to hire a artist who is able to design good looking masculine outfits. Outfits for the men always look basic and often feel like copy of another outfit. Isn't Final Fantasy not the series that gave us feminine looking protagonists?

Props to ppl actually replying back to bigots like I'd rather farm 100 atmas than engage with that topic :v

I'm just baffled how fragile other players' egos must be to deny it's just optional clothing for men, and if they don't want to see they can just deal with it, along with it being an MMO, so players' personal expression is a main selling point in FFXIV.

In my personal opinion, SE just doesn't care much for male characters. You won’t convince me otherwise. Almost everything tends to be worse for male characters.

I’d really love to play a handsome male character, and I’ve mostly played male in this game. But since 2015, nothing significant has happened to improve the situation for them. They’re still at a clear disadvantage most of the time.

The real issue isn't just the repeated gender-locked gear like tights, skirts, and dresses. The deeper problem is that all male models follow the same design direction—there’s no truly slim and/or small androgynous type like you often see in anime or similar media or in FF14 for some NPC's. And that male glamours, in general, are usually really dull and lack creativity.

I’m against all forms of gender-locked content. But my main complaint is that male characters are overall at a big disadvantage. Players should have the freedom to express themselves however they want—this includes emotes, too. Gender-locked emotes and poses are, in my opinion, just as bad. Also not every female always wants to act like a 100% sterotype girly girl.

Right now, I’ve given up on playing true male characters in this game. I’ve tried since 2015, but nothing has ever really improved. At this point, I’ve lost all hope.

Personally I'd rather not see a male character wearing something akin to 2B leggings because I think in a fashion sense it looks absolutely ridiculous, whilst others may want to see it because they think in a fashion sense it looks absolutely good.

The truth is, nobody's individual opinion on fashion should decide whether gear is unlocked or locked. A gear piece should be unlocked to both genders as standard, then people can decide whether they want to wear it or not. It'll give the game more freedom in customization. (Men need more shorts). And please CBSIII, stop adding weird metal shaped ARR-era motifs to what would otherwise be nice gear.

There is also some gear like certain hats which are gender locked which is a shame.

(I've seen some words like bigotry thrown around in this thread, if someone's fashion opinion is an unreasonable aversion then everyone in this thread is a bigot for having an opinion on fashion).

PS Cid's goggles in the store being gender locked is a war crime
