Who else is thinking of cancelling their sub these days?

I posted this on another thread that asks "what keeps you playing FF?".

It used to be the MSQ for me.

This time the MSQ is hot garbage, so I don't have that anymore.

Got into CC for three seasons and reached Crystal.

As of today, there is nothing in the game that I find compelling enough to keep me playing.

I cancelled my subscription today.

I will return once I notice things have improved.

I have been playing this game since 2015.

Last expansion was a terrible disappointment.

And while I used to do savage raiding in the past and could get into it again, it's not something I really care about nowadays.

What always kept me playing was the MSQ and the writing behind it, even if it was imperfect.

There are simply no excuses to be made for DT, in terms of the MSQ is just a sloppy mess and the writers should be embarrassed by it.

And you? Will you remain or is it time for you to say goodbye as well?

then leave and come back in an expansion or two when the story stacked up for you to do... nothing wrong with it

I haven't played since November, I just got back to catch up and that's okay, I'm not married to any game.
I used to be more active but DT has been mid so far and that's okay too, every MMO has good and bad expansions.
These days I prefer WoW, I'm getting ready for their future housing system, it already looks better than XIV's, lol.

I am considering canceling my subscription, I've been supporting the game since 2014 but frankly the latest expansions have been boring, I had the most fun during Heavensward and Shadowbringers, anything else has been trash for me.


I agree that the scenario writers are not the most talented since their stories don't inspire at all, nothing makes me want to come back and play the game every day, I've had enough collecting the latest gear every few months, it never lasts.


Yoshida should learn a thing or two from gacha games and make something fun that keeps users playing, I sure hope FFXIV comes to an end sooner than later, it's time Square Enix releases a new Final Fantasy Online.


Or course if Yoshida allowed us to share the MSQ progress between all owned characters it would be a huge difference and would also make the game infinitely more fun.

Go out in the world, see people botting fates/resources.
Go to Gold Saucer see people botting MGP.
Go to Eureka see people botting bunny fates.
Go to Bozja/Zadnor see people botting Mettle.
Go to HoH see people botting hoards for title.
Go to any city to see the same bot chain queuing duties for hours without moving an inch.

You don’t even need weird programs or setups anymore. It took me a total of 2 minutes to find a bot for all of these activities mentioned above, conveniently packaged into a plugin an 8 year old could use.

I don't think that's a good idea. The mmo market is really fierce, especially today where the market more or less collapsed. There is a reason why most big mmo are 10 y.o. or more. When you achieved to get to the second place of that market, you don't bet it all on something else. FFXI was a small success, but it's stayed niche compared to other mmo. FFXIV achieve to get mainstream, and when you get there, you try to prolong that, because you're not sure to get there with another project.

I think even most players of FFXIV wouldn't try another FF mmo. The people here for the cosmetic/mod side of things would not change game, the traditionnal mmo players have been done dirty so many time by SE I feel like most wouldn't go for a new FF MMO. A new FF mmo could potentially fail, which make their strategy with FFXIV so much weirder. It's what feed them, and it's treated as if they could do without it.

could people be? yeah, and some probably are
but some people genuinely just enjoy the game

how can you really determine if someone is botting or not?

Exact same characters doing the exact same thing any time of the day doesn’t matter when you come looking and that for weeks. Yeah sure, what’s your argument? “They’re all millionaires who don’t need to sleep and enjoy doing the same thing for 200 hours”?

Nothing else out there at the moment, not going back to WoW, so stuck in the eternally mediocre FFXIV, please buy all the storemounts

I will always remain until my sub runs out (in late July this year lol) until then I'm having fun and ima buy more time cards down the road later on.

FFXIV is my main game i been playing since 2020 but I do take a bit of a break and play other games. But not gonna cancel my sub anytime.
