Most people find that relics are a far more interesting prize than the phantom jobs. For a lot of people, it's "You passively up your Phantom Jobs while farming for your relic". The relic is something not limited to the occult crescent. It's the true price for a lot of players.

Patch came out on tuesday. It is now friday. I have my relic already in the first week. Where is the issue? In 4 days of about 15 hours gameplay you get your weapon. I just levelled to 20. Mastered 4 Jobs and had my relic. People complaining about getting Atmas of different colours need to realise the colour you get is based on the fate. So if you need a specific Atma just do fates in that zone. Fate trains are also running flat out in the normal world but I hear the drop rate is lower there, which makes sense as the fates are dying in around 25s each.

Because I want all the relics. The atma RNG is just gating me from the actual grind.

How are people complaining about a relic grind 3 days after the content came out. By just levelling to 20 I got over 7 of each Atma, similar drop rates with my FC mates. This is normal. People need to stop requesting handouts. This is the fastest relic yet.

Jesus christ it's not about the speed it's about how random it is and your post is proof of how random it can get. You got OVER 7 atma of each of the 6 kinds leveling to 20 apparently and by the time I was 20 I wasn't even halfway done with the atmas. It just doesn't feel good to depend on this much rng, I would be completely fine with them asking me to do hundreds of CEs if the rng was minimal, I think some rng is healthy.

You come to explain that players have options, as though the devs are unaware of this - yet you spend your time here instead of with all those amazing options you claim we have for MMOs.

Demanding unquestioning allegiance from your players under penalty of silence will not work out in the end. We DO have other options, and those don’t require our unwavering loyalty. I came back for this patch to see if it was good gameplay content. It was not. It was content, but not good content. Thus, I complain until my subscription runs out and I am barred from posting.

Once again: demanding loyalty will NOT work. It didn’t work for 650,000 players. Your queues will slow down, your friends will stop logging in, your FC will die out, the game will stop having content, and you will leave just like everyone else. Age isn’t an inevitable sign of decline: WoW has its highest subscriber count in 10 years, over 20 years since its release. FFXIV is half as old and has 20% of the player base. Sad!

I think they purposely made it so that you *want* to go into Occult Crescent to get the atmas. I did most of my grinding in there but then went and tried to get the one type in the one area (where moblins and the birds live, don't want to butcher the spelling lol). After several hours I didn't see a single one. Go back into OC, get one within the hour.
They made it so you don't have to go in, but it feels like they punish those types.

You could be right. I was hoping I’d be able to level my last job, AST, to 100 through FATEs outside OC while working on the relic too, knowing it would take a bit more time going that route, but it feels kind of merciless to go three days without a single drop. ������ It honestly looks like they’re punishing us for trying to level our jobs OR go for relics. After all, if we have less to do, there’s less reason to stay subbed (except I’m a forever subber! I never let it drop because I love the game that much! ������ Very much reconsidering my years of loyalty...).


Bojza was much kinder since it combined goals in a way that actually worked—well, except for those awful Timeworn Artifacts! ������

I followed your suggestion and I finally got some atmas. I think you ARE right! Maybe I'll get some more atmas doing fates tomorrow. When I finally went into the OC and ground the fates and critical engagements, I snagged 6! Not instantly, though. It took many many more hours of grinding (which is the conclusion of day three). So I guess I can now only say that it was 2 days and a half of grinding before getting any atmas. I'm not sure if that's better. '^^ I reached level 13 in there, got a fair amount of treasure, deleveled a few times, the Oracle job and my first piece of artifact armor! So I guess if it get stuck switch back and forth between the two. *thinking*

PURPOSE here is to obtain a relic weapon.
PLAN is to get 18 atmas for the relic weapon & then spend 1,500 tomestones to upgrade it
PRODUCTIVITY is to get this step, since it is the 1st step, in a timely manner. Players, especially when they're doing the FATES outside of the OC, shouldn't have to be in a zone for 6 hours just to get 0 to 1 atmas. That's stupid & awful. Players, like myself, want to obtain their relic weapons in a timely fashion & move on with life.

It’s not 1500 Tomestones to upgrade it, that’s to get another relic. The upgrade will most likely be another grind but it won’t be out until the next patch.
