Seeing complaints of not making progress due to RNG. As an osrs player.
*Insert "First time" meme..
Did you even read my post? I don't want it to be fast, I could take a longer grind, I hate that it's rng bullshit and not a clear progression. I also don't want it to be one time I want to grind for all my relics, they just chose the one thing no one wanted. It's like you just had a scripted reply prepared for anyone criticizing the relics. It's day two.
It's a one time RNG grind.
It's not supposed to be cleared with a snap of your fingers.
Afterwards you can get back to your little tomestone "grind" that you know and love.
I for one am happy to see a form of a grind return.
Truth be told, you don't know what you want. Some of you have never played an old school MMO and it shows.
Christ... some people....
RNG is just that I got 2 items in about 3 hours mostly doing quests, My Hubby got zero.
However back in the day I was well ahead of him in Atma, but he finished all his ARR relic ahead of me.
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
My first ever MMORPG was EverQuest. I played Final Fantasy XI. I am complaining about this system. It's day two.

RNG grinds are terrible. I stopped tolerating them as soon as better alternatives were introduced.
Also, why do you assume that people who have a problem with RNG just want to finish the grind fast? Long grind with guaranteed progress is what I wanted.
My reply wasn't scripted, it was well crafted and relevant.Did you even read my post? It also wasn't a reply to just yourself, but a good amount of people I see in this thread and others complaining about the fact that they have to do something, albeit RNG.
I think ever single relic, other than Stormblood has had a RNG phase, so it's not new.
Is it innovative? Possibly, possibly not, depends on your opinion.
I personally like this way of doing things, you don't, we can meet halfway and say, just like you did in your original post, "at least the Occult Crescent is fun".
At least, that's what I took from the last sentence in your post that I read.
You can't please everyone. /shrug
Old school MMOs are old school for a reason and died for that reason, it's 2025 gran'pa go back to sleep while people play games to have fun and relax, if i wanted to play dice i would play some shity korean mmo. It's day two.

Been playing mmo for more than 20 years, and thats why i don't want rotten food in my plate.
You can dislike it all you want but the massive success of wow classic and osrs says otherwise in terms of old school MMOs being dead.Old school MMOs are old school for a reason and died for that reason, it's 2025 gran'pa go back to sleep while people play games to have fun and relax, if i wanted to play dice i would play some shity korean mmo.

New MMOs don't do as well due to the fact that people have already dedicated a ton of time to these more established games. So why change to a different one?
The unfortunate part to me is that once you turn the Atma in, it’s just back to EW…dumb ass tome grind and casual purchase of relics…I get people’s frustration with the atma drops, I ran religiously the last day and a half to get all of them, and the rates are bad. I feel like they could have found common ground but instead it’s the worst of the worst. Terrible Atma drop rates and then mind numbing tome grind in dailies, buy 3 items x 500 and turn in…
It’s the problem with this team, zero creativity, originality and understanding what their fans are saying and wanting. My real question is, why once someone gets their atma are they going to keep running crescent? Butt ass ugly relic armor? Items that are going to tank on the market board? Or do they truly believe the job grind and leveling is worth it? I don’t mind it, there decent but want real influence do they have in combat to really “change” the game? It’s just sad, that yet again, content falls flat on its face upon arrival. I don’t get it. My opinion of course..
