Hello, as in the title - I was making a forum post back in january but in technical help, but since I waited for a patch in hopes of problem getting resolved, but It was not. I was advised by one of forum administrators, to create a post here so here I am. (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...87#post6656787 old post)

since 7.1 update there's weird issue with DLSS where elements of the UI (afk icon, quest markers, MSQ icon, nameplates etc.) so every element that's not the model but UI in the world is causing texture flickering. For example, as on the gif attached, when in DLSS mode, chocobo flickers but only in places where his texture/model is in front of a UI element, like quest marker for example. It might seem like a minor issue, but its really straining on the eyes and problematic especially with many quests around, player names.

    PC (not steam)
    How often? Always.
    I'm not running other programs.
It happens always on every character, asked friends who use DLSS option - they have the issue aswell since 7.1
PC is not overheating, not having any issues with it ever.
Nothing was done to the PC, same hardware, I even reinstalled whole computer thinking its on my end, but it was not.
    Borderless/windowed/fullscreen, does not change anything.
I can say is that I have went through the effort of changing > each < graphical option, setting, resolution, (alongside with AMD FSR) each fps limitation and frequency (tested other screens i have in my house too) so and there's just once factor that caused it - DLSS since patch 7.1.

    Just to add information
    windows 11 updated
newest Nvidia drivers (tested other 5 driver versions from october, november, september, august and july respectively aswell and newest ones)

I even did whole PC reinstall, even tried windows 10 - no resolution.

Aditionally I've tested all possible settings regarding nameplates and nothing makes a difference, it's clearly DLSS only issue, as I was not able to re-create the issue using FSR, but FSR looks very ugly and runs bad for me so I use DLSS. That's the only technical issue I have regarding the game.

There's something which I did notice, when my fps is very low (limiting it to save power when I'm having game on idle) flickering increases - when I limited FPS just to check it - flickering increased again, seems like it's something related to both frames and DLSS, at least how it looks like from a surface view.

I also tested everything that can be done in Nvidia drivers to mitigate it - every single Nvidia filter / setting that could've been used - was used, it's just FF.
Maybe the issue was before 7.1, but with my emmense attention to little details I doubt it. As far as I remember when patch 7.1 appeared, DLSS became less blurry and this issue was introduced.

I'm surprised no one complained about it yet, maybe it doesn't bother people too much - when I was asking friends around to test it - everyone with DLSS on had it, just people with bigger resolutions, uncapped fps didn't pay too much attention to it, but I have my resolution set to 1080p and 75fps, as I don't want for my GPU to be under extreme strain all the time and stutters due to fps changing.

    edit:
Forgot to add, but UI resolution doesn't change it aswell.
