    On Launcher cannot log into Game - get an error

    On the FFXIV launcher, I enter my userid, password and OTP security code. I can get into Square Enix, my account and my companion app, but I cannot get into the game. I have a new PC, due to the old one having overheating issues.

    I get the following error when enter ALL my information:

    エラーが発生しました。しばらくしてから再度お試しください。
    Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Bitte versuche es später erneut.
    An error has occurred. Please try again later.
    Une erreur s'est produite. Veuillez réessayer ultérieurement.

    This is an invalid operation. Please log in again from the top page.
    (Please do not perform operations with multiple windows open or using your browser's "Back" button)


    I have ensured that Microsoft Edge is updated and it is. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher several times. I am on launcher version 2025.04.25.0000.0001(11705548)-4.2.0

    There is no good option for an email or to call someone. I would LOVE to be able to call someone!!

    I had to uninstall / reinstall the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime by downloading the stand alone version and "running it as administrator. This was not an easy task to gleam from all the places my internet searches took me!!
