Well that entirely depends on if you select a regional server close to you . I know I'm in a bit of a pickle, with a lot of my guildmates being in Europe or Japan.

However, since we now have the option, it is now your choice! So if you complain about the latency after the fact it is more than likely your own fault not the Server's.

The only "strategy" involved in moving would be to avoid having them hit you from a specific direction, which the inertia animation has nothing to do with.

OH, HE STAGGERED TO THE LEFT! GOOD THING I AM STILL STANDING STILL AND CASTING MAGIC!

It's almost as if none of you have actually played this game before!
ROFL, totally agree with this. With the ability to target lock onto characters there really isn't much point. The only thing you can do by moving is get out of range, or take advantage of line of sight.
in PvP the common tactic is to jump over a caster's head or melee's head so that your no longer in front of the character attacking.

When this happens you can't attack the player till you turn. If both players do this it looks pretty ridiculous with a lot of bunny hopping over the other characters head! :P However, this is how most PvP matches are won. By whoever has the most skill in rapidly turning around repeatedly to attack the character that is behind them after jumping over them.

I would prefer other strategies, however since ARR now has jumping, this is how it's probably going to be .
