Accessibility and Jumping Puzzles. Why Are We Still Doing This?

I didn't even know Kugane had a jump puzzle, but I'm very good at the gold saucer leap of faiths. If you just want to get this completed (for progression - I'm guessing there's some vista log book stuff up on the roofs?) I'd be happy to do it as a healer and revive teleport you up there, if as Alice_Rivers said - you have Blue mage and self destruct (I'm on Chaos data center). From what others are saying this jumping puzzle is difficult.

And don't worry about asking for help. A lot of people nowadays can be pretty thick or insensitive when it comes to disabilities and understanding them, you'll always get one such response - as you did at the top. But you also got a lot of decent replies, hopefully you'll get this puzzle sorted.

I don't think it's question of insensitive I think it's mostly a question of being tired of being everything shove like it would be the end otherwise. But! there is always a way to say thing and the guy did say he would be rude like some are just tired of sugar coating people like you are on the internet you are fated to meet people that will not believe in what you do or just plain asshole like take thing with a grain of salt.

Best case I can think of is some sort of accessibility mode that will show the true hit boxes of the character and the platforms. So many of those jumps you are either starting on or landing in midair… or both. And it seems to vary how much you can overshoot the platforms without just learning from trial and error.

god forbid something fun is in the game, lets just make it easy for the sake of an extreme minority of players, let's just not have any challenge just in case someone has a sensitivity or disability that might make it hard for them to do it, while we're at it, lets just make the bosses static and not allow them any movement even during spell and have a cast bar in the middle of the screen, just in case someone is unable to follow on the boss moving on the screen.

you cant give full accessibility in an MMORPG, except if you want static items everywhere and 0 challenge in anything, nothing would move, not even the sky, because what is someone looks up and gets dizzy, sometimes I look down from high areas and get sick a little and dizzy because I have a fear of height, perhaps they should adapt the game to me too ?

I am obviously sorry that you have a disability, and I am sure its terrible to live with, but the game cannot adapt to every disabled and also sensitive person, if you open the accessibility can of worms, then its never-ending and you end up with a soulless game, even more than it already is.

Who said "The entire game needs to be reduced to zero challenge, in order to provide accessibility OPTIONS for people who need them"? Answer: No one but YOU.

Are you THAT het up that a player might be able to use some particular accessibility aid THAT HAS TO BE TURNED ON TO USE IT, while you "did it the hard way"? Really? When umpty-bajillion people out there are using all kinds of mods, etc. and "didn't do a thing the hard way, like I did," either?

It's BS to say "they have to make EVERYONE'S game super-easy and dull, to provide accessibility on something like this," yet that's the BS you're trying to sell here. Busted.

They can have a control with things that help people who *need* that help, that you can just freaking IGNORE and NOT USE. Like you probably ignore existing accessibility aids like being able to turn down visual effects on actions, etc. Duh. NO ONE is asking for everyone's game to "be made ridiculously easy," and yes it IS gaslighting for you to try to claim that's what she's asking for.

Go think about what you're saying and how you're trying to cloak belittling the OP and all people with disabilities, with a combo of gaslighting, fake sympathy, and "If it's not tough for you, you don't deserve it" mentality. Because that's exactly what you're doing here.

But when it comes to the jumping puzzles like the Tower in Kugane, I hit a wall. Not because of a lack of skill, but because my body physically can't keep up with what these mechanics demand.

I love jump puzzles and spend a lot of time in them in this game.

The puzzles and sightseeing logs aren't out of reach with just a bit of creativity

Here's a macro you can use ingame to do a basic jump:

You can fine-tune the distance of your jump by adding or removing the "/wait a frame" lines
They are of course, not real commands and don't do anything- but that's exactly their purpose

Macros execute 1 line per frame, so you can use this to do fractional delays and make one or two jump macros that suit you

Oh this is useful, I never realized this could be done, and makes me wonder if you could do a particularly long string of macros, maybe even taking the entire macro page, to just do the entire Kugane Tower for you, it'd be impractical of course, but viable...
