    PvP Spell Effects Quality of Life Suggestion

    Hello!

    My suggestion has to do with Battle Effects Settings under Character Configuration specifically in PvP. Currently there are three options for Own, Party, Others, and PvP Opponents which includes Show All, Show Limited/Some, and Show None.

    Currently, not all Limit Breaks appear visually if Show Limited/Some is selected. For example, if you have "Some" selected for PvP Opponents, reactable Limit Breaks like a MCH's Marksman's Spite crosshairs or a WHM's Afflatus Purgation laser beam, you won't be able to see the spell animations making them difficult to react to/Guard.

    So, my suggestion would be to make all Limit Break spell animations visible when Show Limited/Some is selected OR add another Battle Effects Settings option specifically for Limit Breaks in PvP so players who want to be able to see all LBs but not all spell effects can have that option.

    It's especially weird since the "limited" pvp effects doesn't really have concrete criteria. But out of all the moves, the blue hamsterball of Guard is always visible lol

    Yeah definitely need a toggle for LBs, especially in Frontline.

    This would be a great change. We desperately need updates to the spell effects. It always feels bad when I hear the sound cues of an enemy MCH LB going, and then the next thing I see is a Frontline teammate nearby die to it because they probably have spell effects turned off, so they couldn't heal out of it.

    Absolutely agree with this suggestion. I personally keep my Battle Effects settings at Show All specifically because of this, having full visibility gives a crucial heads-up advantage, especially with Limit Breaks in PvP. Not being able to see key animations like MCH’s crosshairs or WHM’s LB beam when on “Show Some” can really put players at a disadvantage.

    Adding a dedicated setting for Limit Break visibility, or ensuring they always display regardless of general effects filters, would be a solid quality-of-life improvement for competitive play. Thanks for voicing this!

    +1, there's a lot of visual clutter with all effects on, and it takes a while for people to adjust to it, especially in 24v24v24 gameplay. It makes no sense why some LBs, such as MCH and WHM, don't show up at all with effects set to limited. These are important gameplay cues!

    Literally made a forum account to +1 this.
    Honestly speaking this would be a good quality of life change for PVPers who don't want to have a lot of visual clutter, and to choose what they actually want to see / be aware of while fighting other gamers in Crystalline Conflict, Frontlines, or Rival Wings.

    Definitely would benefit from this. Also for players with less capable PCs, this gives them an equally fair chance.

    The point of their being "limited" spell effects is so that you can actually see what is happening. That, however, should mean that you need to see important thing like LIMIT BREAKS, DASHES, and HEALING EFFECTS. You shouldn't be confined to only some cause then you can't even see what you died to. This is a great suggestion. At bare minimum, let us at least see every Limit Break.
