Yoshida said in an interview back in the StB days that he wanted to make a whole new mmo that was pure high fantasy and was more it's own thing. iirc he said he would not have the same races as XI/XIV and absolutely no tech, aliens or anything of the sort and be in its very own world without crossovers, call backs and such. But who knows. After having him at the helm from 2.0-7.0 I frankly do not think he has the creativity for it.
That sounds pretty nice. I wonder what he would have come up with if SE didn't keep throwing side projects at them... Though I feel like juggling two MMOs at the same time would also be very difficult, I do not envy him at all.
I have seen Yoshida live on Tokyo game show last year, oh man , how much i wished i had the chance to talk to him.

So much question to put them in a bit of trouble that will never get askedToday interview are more about what they want to say than what we want to know...

This sounds nice, I definitely would like to see a wee bit of Fantasy in my Final SciFi XIV.Yoshida said in an interview back in the StB days that he wanted to make a whole new mmo that was pure high fantasy and was more it's own thing. iirc he said he would not have the same races as XI/XIV and absolutely no tech, aliens or anything of the sort and be in its very own world without crossovers, call backs and such. Ah well, what can you do. Need to be off now, I have to catch my spaceship - I'm helping a race of genetically engineered rabbits building a moon base. Afterwards I might take my air wheeler back to mega city Solution 9, watch a wrestling match in the arena, then have a drink in one of the many bars while watching a show on holo. Live long and prosper!
1.x excuses were just "wait until 2.0!"
2.x and on excuses were "sorry, spaghetti code and console limitations"
now questions are just ignored and everyone here assumes its spaghetti code
If only someone could have a real interview with Yoshida and have him answer some questions we really want to know about instead of curated questions about fluff like glams, his rings, upcoming store sales and who his favorite scion is. Watching WoW, ESO and other mmo or game dev Q&A and interviews makes you really realize just how backwards their whole system is because these western devs really seem to like their games, esp nowadays. Like I said earlier, even the FFXI is way more upfront about things and you can still hear the passion these ppl have for Vana'diel. I haven't felt actual passion coming from Yoshida or Foxclon in years and years. LFtP and FanFests just feel like they are a choir to them now.

All hop aboard on the train to Final Scifintasy XIV
It does, you buy a service or product and FFXIV is definetely not US, it is not just physical stuff that you acquire from abroad, the administration is desperate to get from the outer world to pay or give free stuff in a figure of speech.
I'm pretty sure Mr. Yoshida's response to anything at this point will be the same: "Thank you for playing our game" regardless of how disappointed the community has become over the years.
For every stranger, acquaintance or friend I greet who manage to get past the door and jump on to FFXIV, I tell them to buy an apartment instead of a house, or join a Free Company if you're that desperate for a plot and a house.
