I made an alt and played for 10h.

Like never unlocking job stones, and by extension any group content past level 29, just to see if I could reach level 100 on all classes using only the finite amount of content available to me below 30, lol.

In theory, as soon as you unlock Leveling Roulette, you'd be able to get to level 100 without much effort, roulettes reward ever-scaling XP, and especially leveling, so assuming you logged daily and did your Sastasha every day, it'd actually be pretty easy assuming you don't mind doing Sastasha that much, especially if you only did ARR Disciplines of War and Magic, since all expac Jobs start with a job rock.

Game is free, grab a friend. Make said friend try the game and give his opinion.
For the past 10 months 6 friends, tried the game, only one stayed for the RP.
The rest left because the interface was confusing, the game slow and boring, they prefered other mmo/games.
The game force you to have a 10+ years ago experience while players expect more nowdays.
Only one told me the story was bad, but they all told me it gets boring really fast.

Returning player here for not even 30 days (18 days to be precise). New account - a lot has changed since I last played (last unlock for me was samurai - was able to remember my name and looked up my main in loadstone) and a lot was forgotten (looking at you titan).
Did not skip any cutscene. Maybe on avg 3hours per day.
Main class is now 64 and I am done with main HW and now in post patches. 2nd class is at 39 and I spared all the normal quests for this one if required and bored of dungeon runs.

While time is of course a matter was the lower tier a lot changed. You can get to 50/60 with just a handful of sidequests and then just do MSQ and job quests.
My partner started with me and is a brand new player. She is in ARR after content - but had not as much time as I had to play. And she is 55 with same set of "oh the MSQ is getting you all the exp".

If this continues do I really feel like you can be 70ish before you enter Stormblood story which was 60-70.... so I guess if there is no more insance exp spikes will I always be ~10ish quests ahead of MSQ even with little to no sidequests....

Edit as important:
I used whenever possible NPC Helper btw. Which of course slowed me down. But was perfect to remember mechanics.

That’s a big reason why I feel reluctant to unlock too many optional contents on alts—I don’t want to feel the completionist urge anymore… once is enough xD

You best do that before you sink too deep and next thing you know, you're juggling two mains like me where I'm even going for the A and S rank achievements on both xD


My OG main got her Thrillseeker title (2K S rank hunts killed) and my main alt is a few hundred away from it for example lol. If I were to only have my main, I would have close to 4K S ranks so far to get the Ultimate Thrillseeker title/achievement (5K S rank hunts killed).

Testing how far you can get in a set amount of time with an alt is going to give a mildly inaccurate result as you will have more knowledge of the game than a completely new player.

The Craziest part? 10 hours to get to Toto-rak is very slow as far as Alt Speedruns go.

I made a Lalafell alt and must say I did breeze to the part where you travel between the city states as a diplomat or what have you. Skipping all the cutscenes and glorified postman arc really made a difference. (But also I guess prior knowledge and not getting side tracked exploring the new areas). So if someone wanted to get ahead with an alt, to unlock content, I think it's definitely doable with limited time (waiting for duties will get painful though unless a tank/healer to skip queues)

I tend to speed run to retainers on my alt and can usually get it done in a few hours, ten seems like a lot but I tend to avoid other stuff I guess.

Title reads like a Mr.Beast vid. Anyway, congrats on doing something completely pointless? Most new players will have uninstalled long before your 10 hr mark, due to the game being complete garbage atm.
