this is how every relic weapon is though. it's always just slapped into content they already made or its slapped into old content to give it a small revitalization, it has never added anything to the game.

ARR and HW I do agree with you there. I also didn't play back in those expansions so I can't really say what the general sentiment was for those. Although as I recall, ARR did have a couple trials specific to the relic.

The point is simply that older relics had you actually go out and do something specific and different from what you regularly did everyday.

This is not meant to diminish those who liked the EW relics. Just to explain why a lot of people didn't like it. If you liked it, that's awesome, I'm glad for you. I just wish I could have had something to do.

the problem is eureka and bozja had no relic content it just had content and as you did it you got the relic, the relic was just thrown into already made content and called relic content but you didnt go out of your way to get it. this is how every single relic has always been arr/hw was technically the most unique with like the books/maps and by technicality from 1.0 the hydra and chimera since those two were only for relics and nothing else.

honestly i disliked EW relic the most cause it required me to do something else since i don't do dailies or hunt i enjoy'd eureka/bozja relics cause it didnt require any effort myself since just playing the content get me relics.

Wether the relic content was intended to be attached to it or not has nothing to do with what I've been saying. The point is that it made you do something new that you weren't doing the patch before. And for me personally, I did go out of my way to get those relic weapons. I wouldn't have engaged with the content as long otherwise.
But that's the beauty of humanity, everyone is different.

2. Operating income increased from about 32 billion yen in FY2024 to about 40 billion yen in FY2025. That is an increase of around 8 billion yen. And this is with an 8 billion yen "loss" that was part of the announced "We're taking a hit by closing down game development and writing it off" from 2024

To add to this point, in 2023 the operating income was at 44.3.
We'd have to go check the report from previous years to compare but from just this alone, it shows that 2024 costs could have just been lower then normal.

Why take risk and change, when there are enough players subbing anyway for the next decade?

Regarding other SE games, I actually liked round based. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is atm what gameplay-wise modern FF series should be in singleplayer imo. I always liked FF10 and precursor, and lost interest when it downgraded to smashing the same button in FF13.

Also will never play mobile games.

I would like to see more fantasy series and movies though. If Super Mario Bros. Movie can make half a billion in profits...I think a good Final Fantasy movie could too...

That 1/3 scale 2B figurine apparently sold like hot cakes.

If they also make their other titles (notably FF7 Remake/Rebirth) multi platform, that'll be a strong boost for them I think. A lot of Switch players seem to enjoy Japanese RPGs, they'll no doubt snap up FF7 remake on the Switch 2.
