    Cosmic Exploration Upgrade Scaling

    Why in the world was scaling not put in for smaller servers for the Upgrades? Seraph, the biggest server on Dynamis, has now failed twice on the 8th upgrade. The second was nearly at peak times as well. We 100% will end up failing the 3rd. Is this what smaller servers have to look forward to with Cosmic Exploration from here on out? Needing to wait nearly 24 hours without getting any Red Alerts or Mech OPs before we get the pity win?

    Just seems like bad design, honestly.

    i mean.. you will have a year+ to finish the content + several more content droughts before 8.0
    it probably doesnt matter is you finish it a week sooner or later

    It's not even about finishing a week later or not. It's about our server being annoyed that we spent 40 minutes, twice now, trying to get a win just to fail. It feels bad. And it will continue feeling bad that I guess we're just going to fail every single time from now on.

    I don't understand why SE decided to stop Red Alerts and Mech ops from spawning if an upgrade fate is failed. It's just punishing smaller servers for no reason.

    There's a new thread created and the exact same convo being had every few days.
    If you want SE to potentially see this (even if they barely ever look at the forums), they've said it's best to stick to one large thread instead of this.

    The bad design is in the FATE concept itself. It makes no sense how you can do a FATE, Fail it, and then do it again yet it feels like it's treated as if no progress was made on the objective to begin with. It makes no sense design wise and it would feel a lot better if the "FATE" concept itself was just a additional bar for finishing up the next phase of upgrade rather than this FATE concept that seems to reset all progress put towards it when you fail.

    SE needs to make more competent scaling systems. The best one they managed was in Bozja, where if a Skirmish is too tough, equally scaled NPCs help after a while and buff stacks are added to compensate for the missing players. Likewise, if you get into a CE solo you get an Echo buff so powerful you have somewhere around 400,000 HP.

    But a lot of the other scaling methods are just poorly designed.

    The timer on this event is just BS.

    Imagine the real world.
    Worker: "Boss, we finished the tunnel to 98%, but now time's up".
    Boss: "Fill up the whole tunnel again, we'll start all over again tomorrow."

    It's also a bit hard to stomach that I have mammets that can run a complete Island Sanctuary - but rabbit engineers that converted the moon into a spaceship cannot build a simple tunnel building robot...

    Beyond the ridiculous absence of scaling, the real question I'm asking here: who in their right mind decided that failing such fates was good design in the first place? Why is there a timer? Are they actually supposed to feel engaging and fun?

    So today it finally happened, I did the crystal fate and besides me there was one guy in mech - afk - and it failed... not even that works out... im worried for the final few upgrades...
