Suggestion for Permanent Private Housing via Island Sanctuary

Adding options to build Large, Medium and Small plots on an island would enable players without housing to gain access to these features, and they would be permanent as there is no competition or fomo.
There would also be no significant added stress on the servers, since the Island Sanctuaries already have a restrictive player limit.
It would also allow Island Sanctuaries to see significantly more use.

Is this suggestion too reasonable and fair to be considered for the game?

It's been requested before, because it seems like such an obvious solution. However, when IS was being released, they specifically stated that IS wasn't intended to be player housing. I tracked down an original source from an interview with Yoshi P (it's a little garbled because it's a Google translation from the Japanese:

I think this is entirely fair and reasonable. I would love to see my Island Sanctuary evolve to allow this honestly. Give us another set of levels to work through to develop the plot and everything and yes, I would be all over that kind of achievement! I would gladly move to sanctuary permanently and free up my housing plot for someone else to enjoy.

I like the idea a lot. It would definitely reduce my number of teleports and need for outdoor space. The only thing I would not like about this is being kicked off the island all the time and that nobody could visit if I'm not on. Hopefully they'll fix the leaky roof.

Hopefully they could re-arrange it so that it's less like a timed instance and more like the current apartment setup, only for islands. They might have to find a way to organize it and make it searchable so you're not flipping endlessly through names trying to find someone, but surely that wouldn't be too difficult?
