they could turn off our mounts inside the nexus area (the place with all the merchants)

and they could only allow the one mount you can buy there in s9. that would lead to more discussions, but i would kinda dig it xD. also this would avoid the problem with the giant mounts

and also, why cant we bring that mount to the mechanic in s9 to change its colour?

Yup the good reason is "Lore Breaking" & having Atheryte teleports everywhere.Devs made sure that the community got used using teleports since ARR.Compared to WoW vanilla,which they made sure the community got used using flying travel and no teleports inside the cities.
We have that too,it's called Chocobo Porter but i'm certain 90% of the playerbase don't use them anymore,they're extremely helpful when you start with a new character & when you don't have enough money in the starter areas though,but after that,useless.They tried to enable mounts in HW and STB but they realized it's not "aesthetically correct"(lore breaking).

Not trying to troll or complain for the sake of complaining. I like Solution Nine more than most of my friends do, I like the sinister indoor mall vibe, I like the gang of lalafell mugging other npcs. There's a lot of good RP potential for those who RP on main (or are SUPER devoted to leveling alts). And the patch msq going on there seems like it's taking a really neat direction.

But the more time I spend there the more I'm like "Seriously? No mounts? There are lanes! Sidewalks! We have the 'Hoofing it' status effect nowadays if buildings are a concern! The tome turn-in area is a car dealership! What the hell is going on?"

At the same time, I know I sound like an armchair game dev talking like it would be so simple for them to update it to work like Idyllshire/Rhalgr's Reach. Is it? Is it not?

I guess I'm also complaining because it might be good for player morale to be able to goof off on our cool lategame mounts. A little thing that would spark a lot of joy. IDK. u_u Sick of feeling like booboo the fool for mostly being a S9 defender while knowing that yeah, a lot of the critiques are valid as hell.

Aetherytes kinda already kill the game's travel, but then again there's nothing really to discover along the way other than what pretty trees they planted or the 2/20 houses they graced us with opening with their lack of resources. If solution 9 had those nice highways like it does atop, mounting would be nice though.
