From watching the gameplay trailer, seeing screenshots and concept art and from reading reviews about the gamescon video, I have to say that I'm impressed. I've been here from the start of beta 1(other than a 4 month break due to a failing computer, though I still paid for the sub) and I believe that the game has come quite a long way from those days of exp caps and sluggish gameplay. From what I've seen, read and heard, there have been very few complaints about the video.
1) The grass- I don't know why people complain about it lol I think it looks great, despite being 2D. I, however, will gladly take 2D grass in exchange for better performance of the engine.
2) Jumping- A couple of friends of mine are old FF vets that were there for FF1's release and they were a little displeased with "free" jumping in this game. However, after seeing it and the way it was implemented, I believe that the implementation of jump and how it fits with the environments was done very nicely. (The "flying" chocobo is a nice touch)
3) Music- A few people are a little upset that some of the music from 1.x is being carried over to 2.0. While I don't see this as a problem, there are those that would like maybe a variation to the current music when it is ported to 2.0.
4) Ishgard- The destruction of Ishgard has a lot of people in a bit of a rage. Many people were hoping to explore the city while it was still standing. I, however, think that making it into a ruin is a very nice touch and I still can't wait to explore it.
Overall, I really like the way the game looks. The battle looks pretty solid, the graphics engine is very crisp, the environments are very nicely designed and there seems to be very little copy+paste. I can't wait to play it. Limit Break ftw!
