Ok, well, umm, ya, look at this pic http://i.imgur.com/t6g7a.jpg They should show YOUR character instead of just a shadowy outline of a generic *insert what you are here*. Otherwise it's kinda stupid that it's even there.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the silhouette in the middle is just a placeholder. I can't imagine that Square would just leave it like that.

But you never know. Ideally, it should show a model preview of your character.

Like others have said, it's probably gonna change before the final release. When I saw the "Drag & drop" in the video, I said to myself "damn, this is gonna be awesome".

I won't be surprised if it stays as is. A character preview will just be another thing to have to load and another theme of 2.0 is performance. I'm fine with it as is if it means a more responsive UI.
