Dear Community what even holds you in this game

Amassing gil. Seeing number go up activates neurons. I enjoy crafting/gathering and the occasional RP outing. Dungeons/trials/raids are enjoyable for a 10-20 minute investment here and there. Cosmic was enjoyable although a little too easy. Here's hoping it gets more difficult in the future.

For me, it's the story, the music, and the absolute huge amount of things there are to do. As someone who plays FFXIV alongside other games, I usually only play a few hours a week even when the game is one of my primary focuses, so there's still a ton of content and achievements I've never completed. I also found one class in each role that I just have a lot of plain old fun playing - RDM, SCH, and PLD. Then there's smaller things like the Hunt Train community, roulettes, and so on, but the story and the content are the big ones.

Clearly, I sub to FFXIV so I can have access to the wholesome forum community that's only available here.

I just do small goals every week. Right now, I'm farming the DT old extremes for wings and collecting minions. I used to say I love glams but you know I don't have room for more clothes now.

Frontline mainly. But I only like two of the four maps, so end up spending far too much time here on the off days.

Sunk cost fallacy on my end as well.
I also don't want to lose my houses (Personal and FC), so I log in often enough to keep them going in case I get the sudden urge to actually play for once. I go through peaks and troughs with this game, so I'm hoping this is just a bit of a slump and I'll find the spark again sometime, but this expansion has been a low point for me. When I do play I hunt for achievements mostly or do old side content that I never really bothered with first time around like PotD and HoH.

Is not problem for Mao. Mao quit game and is willing to give ups Mao house because Mao can no longer play game and Mao finding game was gettings more and more borings. On plus side for Mao, is lookings like Mao will eventually has house in WoW. Mao so happys!

I like to keep subbed to at least one MMO, nothing better out at the moment to sink my free time into.
It's a damned shame that the devs seemed to have lost their innovation and passion for creation and are just keeping the lights on at the moment with a very very simple content cycle, but what can you do. Square Enix ladies and gentlemen.
