Please make shout chat abuse punishable

I'm so sick and tired of people world travelling and even DATA CENTER travelling just to fill up my chat log with their horrible ads for their horrible venues. In the past, using shout chat to advertise your Free Company was annoying, but tolerable. But now it's just gotten to a ridiculous point. Why should I put up with ads all the time? This was a huge issue in PF that thankfully got fixed, but having ads in shout chat might be just as bad.

SE devs please do something about this. Make it reportable and punishable. If you don't want to do that, at least add more words to the Term Filter. 10 case-sensitive options is not nearly enough. 100 might be close.

Anymore, if they get past the term filter, I just blacklist them. That way, it gets their whole account. But I hardly see it anymore with the term filter I've been using. The trick is to remove the first letter of any word. For example, iscord gets both Discord and discord, etc. And witch gets Twitch and twitch.

Sadly, it's an arms race of sorts. It's constantly changing.

It's fine, major cities (irl) are noisy and full of ads, always have been. I'd rather have the noise with activity than dead silence of apathy. Be careful what you wish for.

Are you ok? Comparing IRL to a game? imagine paying 13€ or more month sub + the horrible expansion cost just to see ads. You can blackout most of the ads irl, I really don't give a single F irl but seeing the spam everywhere you go is rediciolous

I turned off my shout and yell chats 2 or 3 years ago, has been working wonders, no more spam !

Cant count on SE to do it themselves so might as well fix it for yourself.

I don't have your issue. Because I don't hang out in places where these adverts happen. I am usually in a housing district or a random zone, not in Limsa/Ul'dah where people would put their adverts.

What would you want to be able to report, exactly?
The fact they are using it to advertise?
I don't think that is something they can really enforce because those players aren't doing anything wrong
It can get pretty annoying, I agree, but I really don't see what SE can do about it

I hate this stuff too, so here's the only advice I can give you.

Add .gg/ and .tv/ to your term filter. This alone weeds out about half of the annoying ads already

Maybe if they actively moderate the spams better then we wouldn’t need to turn off shout/yell chat in Limsa. It’s always funny to hear rumbling potatoes six fulms under the concretes, lol. Is that a sign a potato being ripe to harvest? /j
