I mean with the way ppl treat ff14. I almost think its real life....too much drama for mmo you know.
You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.
“Abuse” is probably too strong a word but it’s still spam and is annoying.
But anyway, I have shouts turned off to avoid spam because I don’t feel like engaging in the arms race of term filters vs spammers, since I still like hanging out in the major cities.
Spamming venue ads in shout chat should be reportable, and then maybe punished if the person gets warned and keeps doing it. Venues should be advertised in PF instead. Raiders aren’t spamming Shout chat with their Savage parties, so neither should people wanting to do other things.
I feel like this falls under intended usage and shouldn't be reportable unless it's extremely excessive. An option to limit shout and other chat channels to show only approved messages (friends only, fc only, party member only, etc) could be nice though.
Sorry, I use shout chat for my rezmage macros.
/sh Verraise <t>! Btw, I was in a psych ward for 3 weeks and didn't know when I was gonna get released. It was scary!
/sh Verraise <t>! Btw, I'm such a socialcel that I teared up with joy when my gf called me her best friend for the first time.
/sh Verraise <t>! Btw, I drink 2L of Coconut Water for the potassium benefits. Gotta debloat face and looksmaxx (srs)!
I've seen several raiders advertise their PFs on cities, mostly in hopes of finding someone to fill in.But anyway, I have shouts turned off to avoid spam because I don’t feel like engaging in the arms race of term filters vs spammers, since I still like hanging out in the major cities.

But, all in all, removing Shout from the log is usually the most sensible option for those who are annoyed by venue shouters, outside Field Operation areas. The only point of shout IS to draw attention towards player activities, which venues fall in, like it or not (yes, even if plenty of RP goers straight up don't play the game). You can chat with people just right with the other channels.
I do wish /shout had a more restrictive character limit and pacing between messages, though. Some FC adverts in Shiva are downright walls of text.

Totally agree.
I can somewhat tolerate simple ad's like "Hi, We are opening our RP Venue tonight.*carrd link* for more informations."
But its crossing a line seeing single ad's that fill my entire chatwindow with 4+ messages
and ad's that are not appropriate for a game made accessible for 12+y/o

While the multiple message chatspam in a loop should only get a warning before further actions, the inappropriate language stuff urgently needs to be punished with a temporary suspension.

as someone pretty neutral to that whole thing and also having some problems understanding community i have to ask.
i dont go to these places but at the same time i dont really care about their shouts.
what exactly isnt appropriate about these posts? the word erotic? thats a normal word. and i dont mean whatever they do behind closed doors. i just mean these exact posts
without fun jobs none of the content is fun
They should all get banned lol
Gambling isnt legal in most places - heck Pokemon games had to remove theirs in remakes and didnt add any in newer games - all the "catgirls in heat, erotic fun, whatever" stuff doesnt need to get shouted - and no one can check if youre really 18+ (dont get me wrong i dont really care for age restrictions but still...)
Its giant walls of text that make me wonder how they manage to shout some of em (there is a shout limit, right?) and all the links to external stuff just screams modding etc...
Adding to what I already said, it should also be easy to add a decently lenghty cooldown between /shouts to avoid multiple message ads too.
Gambling is illegal in most places understanding it as activities where you bet with real money, which those venues don't deal in (they gamble gil). Otherwise, the prohibitions could get a lot more absurd as they would have to adress any kind of RNG based loot or reward system without a concrete directive of what kind of stakes are forbidden or not. And even then, companies will still find ways around prohibitions (gachas, lootboxes). They should all get banned lol

It's one thing when games targeted to young audiences stop adding gambling minigames due to parental concerns (because chances are that, by "newer games", you're referring to the Pokemon cases with casinos). Staking virtual currencies that hold no real material value nor can be converted to/from real curreny with other players is another.
On advertising erotic content, I've never reported those ads with allusions to ERP because I don't really care about those venues enough for that but I don't see why it wouldn't be reportable as it's clearly advertising explicit content.
