Thank you for adding this much needed context.
I actually like that they have a low skill option while making it still optimal to have full rotation.
Though if a drawback like this was in ff14 people would cry about it lol.
Firstly, I think it is a good thing WoW is doing that (even though this is not related to FFXIV). Because not everyone likes a GCD that fast. The GCD being like that in some other MMORPGs just led to me button mashing tbh. And yes, that worked.
Secondly, I agree that there should be a choice between a simple rotation and a challenging rotation, because there are clearly two types of players: those who just want an easy mode and those who play for the challenge.
There is an opportunity for them to do that if they go ahead with the sorts of ideas they discussed in the media tour - skill trees, talents and ability points. They said they already decided what they are going to do but won't reveal it yet.
I was joking with myself that why not make the game play itself at this point... only to realize that the concept of Auto Battle MMOs especaly on mobile is indeed a thing... I always wonder why people wast there time with Games that litterly play themself... If I want to look at flashy gameplay without having to give any thought or input I play Black Mage... joke besides I would just watch some one stream a game.
They will have to do a lot more than 1-2-3 with highlight the skill you should use if they want to have a “challenge” rotation in FFXIV. Talents/skill point was a thing back in 1.0 but they make a terrible job out of it. Yoshi team scraps that whole idea when revive FFXIV to 2.0 I doubt they would go back to revisit this ideas now especially we got way more jobs nowFirstly, I think it is a good thing WoW is doing that (even though this is not related to FFXIV). Here's a post regarding that all.
Might as well give the whole picture to read.
One button? Skill expression?
is this a joke
Bring back 6.0 Dragoon. I want my job back.
I mean most healers already play with 2 buttons, so one might be okay.
I'd rather have 2 specs for jobs.
I think there should just be a job that is easy to play and only need one button instead of having These kind of plugin. Dual pistol deadeye in gw2 only need to auto attack, but the drawback is this build only does 30k When a hard to play class does 45k. But that's enough damage in a lot of the content.

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
