Bet they won't let us borrow the glam system but will let us borrow a awful 2 button job system, which is the job reworks in 8.0 that will surely save the game!I mean, some DPS jobs already are minimum button rotation like VPR and PCT. I also distinctly a LOT of people saying 1-1-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1 spam was GREAT for healers so they had NOTHING to complain or strike about, so why can't tanks and DPS join in on the "fun" they so adamantly supported?
And then of course there's the upcoming mobile game, where we already know they're going to "borrow" certain things from it to bring over to PC and well... do you know how many buttons there are on a touchscreen? Yeah...
Modern Controls in SF6 still require you to use your brain to an extent. This is more like Dynamic Controls where you press one of three buttons and your character automatically does everything for you depending on your distance from your opponent. You're restricted from any sort of online play while using that mode.

One button rotations Would be fine if anything else was literally interesting about the job, the Issue is that all that makes a job these days are it's rotations. Rotations are basically all that's left on jobs
What do you even manage on jobs to justify a one button rotation? Theirs basically no procs, no different dot timers, nothing to upkeep if your lucky you build up a gauge and spend it, if your unlucky your job auto plays
As much as 1, 2, 3 (with variations) isn't that interesting, what else is there about the job that's actually appealing anymore??? If you strip melees of rotational differences to 1button jobs what's even the point of playing a different melee job?
I wouldn't mind auto rotation if it was justified but this game isn't even close to interesting enough job design to have auto rotations and asking SE to do auto rotations Will not mean the jobs become more interesting as people seem to assume because when has SE ever actually compensated a job after taking away some aspects about it by giving it something new to do... take BLM for example even if they wanted to rework timers and make its casts shorter, what did they give for black mage to manage? nothing... So do not expect for one second that asking for auto rotations will lead to more interesting buttons, It simply won't they will do the bare minimum
Sounds like a useful feature for players with disabilities that keep them from managing a lot of separate buttons.
I could even use it for leveling alt jobs that I don't care about learning to play well. (I just click whatever buttons light up now.)

We already have a concept known as a cure-bot. And even if some people notice, as long as the tank and the rest of the group are alive, you're unlikely to be kicked out of the group for it, at least in casual content. In fact, nothing prevents a tank or damage dealer from pressing only one button. Some people just don't want to fight. They want to socialise, make pretty pictures, collect relics. And no matter how much you simplify the combat in the game or the combat classes, they won't want to fight. Those who wish to press only one button can do so now. And I don't think anything good will come of an officially created rotation with a single button. I have no doubt that people will use it. I just don't think they should have that option in principle, at least not officially. Those who really need it are already capable of making the game play for them (on PC, of course ./wink). And "play" at the level of a good player.
I don't know about a full rotation, but most jobs you could easily shrink combos down to 1 button like how they're in PvP...
It would dumb the game down, but it would also save hotbar space.
Monk is currently really the only job where it'd be an issue, because of Perfect Balance.

But do you think they're gonna actually do anything with that extra hotbar space?I don't know about a full rotation, but most jobs you could easily shrink combos down to 1 button like how they're in PvP...

I'm all for reducing hotbar space but only if they're actually planning to add things and not take away things like they always do.
They likely wouldn't add anything... At least not immediately.
