We got a video so what are you talking about? There will be more presentations in the coming days and those are open to everyone so how about waiting a bit before saying what is or isn't a horrible idea?

Most sites have written XIV off, which is why we all have been saying, over and over and over again, it's SE's job to be extra explosive in marketing.

If GW2 is explosive in its marketing, SE should be extra extra super explosive. IF GW2 was able to do 45 minute streaming, SE should be doing 90 minute streaming. Why? Because SE has a higher mountain to climb. They've lost the trust of the public.

And instead, what we saw was more secret, more subtle. No streaming videos. Don't show the public. And as always, "Look forward for it in the next coming weeks"..... This is not enough. I think partly why IGN is ignoring FFXIV ARR is because it's not making enough noise.

I 100% agree and share your concerns - especially after all the time and money SE has sunk into rebuilding the damn game! You'd think they'd be able to splurge for some real PR. I was just pointing out that at least some big names are still paying attention to the game.

Honestly I don't think they are ready for a media blitz. Maybe they will be when Tokyo Game Show comes around and they should be starting up beta around that time too.

Question for the posters here. Not that I expect anything of quality from IGN, (watches siliconera) but with regard to the magazines. Would you prefer a blurb now on new screens. Or the major article later?

Remember the trouble with launch started from the opinions garnered from screenshots, and only got worse from there. I can understand why they want to be absolutely certain the grass is mowed and everything proper.

A real gamer doesn't trust Game Site reviews, but more of what the comments from the actual players are. Moreso, a real gamer that actually has an opportunity at playing a free trial will most likely do so, so I am hoping that SE offers that, and it could quite possibly change peoples' minds about FFXIV.

Offering a free trial and having that trial advertised on MMOsite and IGN and stuff will gain this game some popularity, the popularity that it doesn't seen to get right now.
