No audio on PC after April 28th patch

RESOLVED. SEE MY REPLY TO THE THREAD.

After updating, I no longer have any audio for the game.
There is no audio at all.
    I tried:
    • During the start up
    • Explicitly playing an opening movie
    • During the game after selecting a character

    I tried the following:
    • Recovery via Launcher
    • Uninstalling and re-installing the game

    All drivers are updated.
    I am running
    Windows 11
    Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100

I haven't seen any report online of similar problems.
Audio for other games, applications, etc. all work normally. It is just FFXIV that exhibits this issue.

I was able to get audio working again, but cannot understand why this would have fixed it.

While the game was running at the Title Screen.
Under System -> Sound -> Speakers
My format was at to 24bit, 19.2KHz (Studio Quality)
I changed it 16bit, 19.2KHz (Studio Quality) and started to hear audio.

I quit the game and changed it back to 24bit, 19.2KHz (Studio Quality).
Launched the game again, expecting the same issue but nope, audio is working again.

I had changed this setting before, but never while the game was running.
