    Machinist Rework Ideas

    Big copium wishlist for MCH in the future.


    1.) Heated Split-, Slug- and Cleanshot procs instead of a combo. Reintroduction of Reload and/or Quick Reload to guarantee procs.

    2.) Wildfire repeating 50% of all Weaponskill and Abilitydamage dealt during its duration. This solves the problem with Wildfire not being able to crit/directhit. Maybe lower the CD down to 60s again and let it explode for cleave damage with a heavy 80% fall off.

    3.) 2 Charges for Air Anchor and Chain Saw. This gives a bit more freedom in when to use Hypercharge and is also important for the next point.

    4.) MCH needs a Raidbuff again. Rework Reassemble into a Raidbuff on a 2 Min. cooldown. Make it only useable on Drill, Air Anchor, Chain Saw. Drill= Increases rate at which target takes direct hits by 20%. Air Anchor = Increases rate at which target takes critical hits by 10%. Chain Saw = Increases targets damage taken by 3%. (Dungeon / Multitarget Raidbuff. Worse than the other 2 options in Single Target but better in multitarget.) Give the MCH a debuff that he cant use the same option the next 2Min burstwindow simular to the Ninja Mudras in PVP.

    5.) Flamethrower generating heat-gauge while in combat (No target needed). Simular to Samurai's Meditation a good tool for fights with heavy downtime.

    6.) Give Auto Crossbow the reset effect for CM/DC or remove Crossbow completely and let Blazing Shot deal cleave damage with a 50% fall off.

    7.) Automation Queen cleave damage with a heavy 80% fall off. Let Scattergun generate 5 Battery Gauge per use.

    I think MCH should have a GCD where they stand still and construct like a big turret or something over the course of like 2-3 seconds and they can then use 3 GCDs to make the turret shoot the boss. To fit in with MCHs other tools make these hits direct crits as well.

    Tbh im fine with everything suggested besides the Raidbuff, MCH really dont need one, one of the reasons why i love mch is literally the fact it has no Raidbuff

    Read ammo and reload, and wildfire damage compilation for some skill expression, I upvote.
    The raid buff is a necessity in a role such a rphys where the two other competitors have over 15-20% of their party contribution located into buffs. This strains MCH balancing too much by either making it too powerful in unoptimized environment and other non standard pve content, or too weak in optimized environments. Without a raid buff, MCH cannot function like a selfish DPS job does as long as it stays in rphys and follows the same metrics.

    Eh i disagree with the raid buff part, i'd rather we move away from raid buffs in the 8.0 rework
    The other changes are quite nice though

    Humbly Requesting that PVE Wildfire be changed to work like the PVP version and do AoE Damage.

    MCH definitely shouldn't have a Raid buff. I would like to see Square just give MCH more Damage. Make some gigahuge damage button that shares a cooldown with Flamethower

    To me it seems like there is a design space mch could occupy with stronger attacks than the other physical ranged, but requiring a “charge time” of no movement to fully channel them.

    Thats what I was thinking aswell. While its beneficial for most groups to have a selfish-dps who can make good use of raidbuffs (especially single target buffs like cards ) you never want the selfish dps to be the MCH who deals roughly 15% less dmg compared to his competitors in the "selfish-dps role". That a SMN gets the AST card over MCH should already tell everything.
    When it comes to Wildfire I had some other ideas aswell. What If they lower the GCD Speed on Drill, Air Anchor and Chain Saw to 1,5s and lower the amount of Hypercharge Stacks down to 2 or 3. Giving us Wildfire windows that prioritize Drill, Cleanshot procs ect with Blazing Shots as filler for the remaining duration. But this would probably put MCH skillceiling through the roof for todays standards.

    MCH doesn't need a raidbuff. it just needs more damage that can be used under potential raid buffs from its party like how BLM, SAM, and VPR work.
