    What is sad is they could have been more creative with it. Contribution doesn't hit 100, ok fine, the leftover in this case 3 would now be put into a new system in which players would have to do certain missions to fill in the rest of that contribution bar. Then even though you "failed" the Construction Support, you would still have a means to engage with the content without being punished by the 16hr delay on top of no mech/red alert opps.

    The way it's currently designed it's like working a job where you do your 9-5, work the 40hrs, then you are told you have to work another 5hrs but you only manage to work 4 1/2 hours, so now even though you know you worked 44 1/2 hours for them they are now going to punish you by saying you can't go on any bathroom breaks or eat your lunch.

    what sucks the progress feels like it went to an screeching hold... like we still miss two bars and now as its more and more quiet, even on shiva i start to worry...

    Because people got their tools finished, and farmed the roulette prizes so much that the prices of everything have completely cratered (ha!) beyond belief, so pretty much all that's left is people who started late, or are leveling. If you were capped on all your DoL/H jobs and started CE day 1, the only thing left to do now is grind points... for a system that won't tell you how point contributions are calculated, or give you any clue of your standing beyond the vaguest of terms.
    Personally I've stepped back from it after finishing my crafter tools (which are inferior to my pentamelded ones anyway) because I'm not a fan of farming points mindlessly for 6~ hours to be told "well, your name is recorded!" and literally nothing else. To say nothing of the fact that every single advancement fate on my server has popped at something like 5am my time, so I've been able to contribute to one... once... at the very tail end when it was already at 97%... I really wanted to like CE and I was genuinely excited for it, but so many aspects of its design right now are completely discouraging to participation and have pretty much killed any interest I had in it for the time being.

    This is a lot of the problem, yes.

    But the other part of it is that there seems to be NO metrics to adjust "amount of progress in Build Fate" (how fast their progress bar fills) for lower population worlds who are also seeing player number drop because of what you said, PLUS the discouragement of "Fate failed, you're locked out of RA and Mech Ops for 8 hours now" and of "Oh, here's your build Fate at 3AM, get busy."

    They need some dynamic calculation that will adjust amount of progress to how many are actually DOING the Fate at that time.

    FIX this Square Enix!

    Behemoth failed earlier---and now Excalibur has failed.

    The Excalibur Fate hit right after they shut down Moon for 10 minutes to do emergency maintenance on it. The Fate kicked off at 3:33 AM EDT. On a middle of the week night. We had around 180-ish total people (across all instances) working on this thing, and were only able to get it to barely above 50%.

    And now we too get the fun of a "you get locked out of Red Alerts and Mech Ops for eight hours" deal... LONGER if we can't get enough people in for the retry at 11:30-ish AM, and it fails AGAIN.

    Dear Square Enix: With the REAL world going to literal HELL IN A HANDBASKET, we absolutely DO NOT NEED RIDICULOUS, POINTLESS, SADISTIC ***STRESS*** FROM THE GAME WE COME TO IN ORDER TO GET AWAY FROM THAT KIND OF BRUTAL STRESS THAT WE'RE LITERALLY LIVING WITH IN THE REAL WORLD.

    It is utter BS that multiple players (and also streamers who've made videos about this) have been TELLING you since you STARTED this "Build Fate" thing with the Cosmic Exploration, that you NEED to retool it to be more fair for worlds with low population, get it to sync for lower numbers of people, and to do SOMETHING about NOT throwing them on us in the middle of the night for people on that world, on a weekday, WHEN MANY HAVE WORK THE NEXT DAY AND NEED TO SLEEP AND CANNOT GET IN TO DO YOUR RIDICULOUS FATE.

    And then on TOP of that---and this is why I say "SADISTIC," players whose "world failed the Fate" because we couldn't get your minimum of 400-ish people in to do it, getting PUNISHED by having our Red Alerts and Mech Ops we need for player advancement HALTED until we DO finally "pass" the Fate, after 1-2 retries???

    We've TOLD you and TOLD you this is not only UNFAIR, it's also PUNISHING your player base and DEMOTIVATING PEOPLE both for doing this Cosmic Exploration stuff but also for just getting in the damn game AT ALL. Your continued silence on this and refusal to act, certainly makes it seem this sadism is DELIBERATE, rather than that someone just accidentally screwed things up in designing this.

    And that's DELIBERATELY CRUEL to people. I personally don't NEED a game I use to destress and reduce my daily doses of "extra cortisol because of all the cruel things BEING DONE TO PEOPLE IN THE REAL WORLD RIGHT NOW," to HAND ME SOME MORE. I don't NEED NOR WANT the place I come to try to calm down from all that, to hand me MORE of it, and ramp my blood pressure back up. Cardiology meds can only do so much, you know: people trying to be mindful about their stress do not need gratuitous deliberate ramping of stress like this.

    THIS IS NOT FUN. THIS IS NOT ENTERTAINING. THIS IS NOT IMMERSION IN SOMETHING GOOD. THIS IS DELIBERATE MEANNESS TO PLENTY OF YOUR PLAYERS. YOU NEED TO FIX THIS, BECAUSE PEOPLE ***WILL*** START WALKING AWAY FROM YOU IF YOU WON'T OWN THIS AND FIX IT.

    I’m on Crystal, but I agree, this sounds awful! What is the reasoning behind a failure state suspending all mech ops and red alerts in the cooldown period? Is it just because the game isn’t programmed to restart those until the progress fate is done?

    Admittedly I’m unsure what actually counts towards the progress meter anyway… if it’s the mech ops and red alerts, maybe that’s why, but it’s still unreasonably painful to go without those for a full 8 hours! Or is it some combination of that and how many crafts/gathering trips are being done on a world? Just seems like there should be a way to resolve this without being so punishing.

    They’ve had to go in a few times now for emergency maintenance for Cosmic… hope this is something they can fix for you. But despite this problem and your low population, some of your worlds are keeping up with ours anyway, so be proud of that at least!

    But yeah these later FATEs aren't well tuned for the content fall off. I finished all my tools and have everything from the wheel except for metallic pink, and I'm not sure if I'm insane enough to care about the ranking/achievements.

    Agreed. A world shouldn't be penalized for failing a fate.
    If for some dumb reason there's technical limitations for syncing (which would be real stupid), at least let the progress carry over to the next time it's available. It's not like all the drilling that was done just disappears because it failed.

    You don't get mech ops or red alerts until it's done??? That's bs! They need to change that.

    And they really should have these scale with population in the instances. Not everyone even on large servers is in CE. And some have already gotten their relics and left. So it should be comfortably possible to complete with the people currently participating in CE on whatever server it pops on.

    Also, while I understand the story reasons why they made Endwalker required, that locks out anyone on the newer servers who haven't finished. Like I have an alt on Mari I could use to help, but she's not done with Endwalker yet. So I think they didn't think that requirement entirely through.

    We have two people in our RL family (of the several who play) who are trying to finish up ARR patches, even though both have been in game for a long time, and one started before I did. Two main reasons for their slow progress: they both have disabilities that can at times put a real limit on how long they can do the game in a sitting (pain, energy), or prevent them from doing it at all... and the other reason is, they want to get the full experience and do things like be omni-crafter and gatherer, do all the side quests, etc. Heh.

    The rest of us who are in DT patches 100% support them playing the game how *they* want and need to play because the point of it is for them to have fun. Since neither of them can get to Sinus A. for this, the rest of us have been working to get them the glams (they're big scifi fans), the cute parasols, the dyes, etc. so they don't feel totally left out (and they'd be in there helping hard if they *could* get in the zone, but understand why not). Am so glad that stuff is tradeable!

    And, 1 thing SE did get right that they learned from Firmament is to limit going to the zone to people on their home-world, because the problems they ran into when anyone from anywhere could jump in a world and do the stuff.

    But this whole thing of gearing progress to high-population/high-participation, and then *punishing* worlds that don't have that by removing access to RA/MO, hurts. As does pouring your heart into doing the Fate, only to see it "fail" because not enough people. Especially when is worlds where people left friends, FC, etc. to go move there because SE begged, and now they're getting hit with multiples of this "punishment" issue. Dynamis and Chaos have both been hit with this, especially.

    I really wish they'd fix the metrics on this.
