Why not ask for the base GP regeneration rate to be doubled -- or tripled, or whatever is required for smelling the roses most quickly?

because other people are unusually impatient and can't bothered to spend a few seconds running from point A to point B? or to spend a few seconds waiting for GP to regenerate?

Dose GP regen if you switch classes while you wait? And if so does it regen faster?

It still regens, but instead of the traits DoL have that increase that GP Regen it gets set to the base of 5. It’s still miserable to have to wait 5 minutes between As just to do the tool.
We know that the “aetheryte” in the centre of the moon camp isn’t actually a teleport aetheryte, it’s actually what confers stellar sprint to DOH/DOL classes (and purifies the local water supply but that’s more just flavour text)
There should be a phase of upgrading the aetheryte (in future planets it should be one of the first phases along with the base cosmoliner system) that confers quadruple GP regeneration and a buff called “stellar sparkle” that functions similar to tricks of the trade, where if you activate gatherers boon you can activate this effect to regenerate 20 GP
This would allow them to balance cosmic around constantly doing missions but doesn’t change that GP is well balanced outside cosmic because limited and slow regenerating GP is what keeps the supply of ethereal node items (the ones that spawn for 10 earth minutes and you can constantly triangulate) limited so the market isn’t excessively flooded

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
As a variant without requiring a new ability, just increase the rate of regen whenever the character is seated/laying down. Use the /sit emote and regen increases until you get back up. Could be implemented as a trait or as a passive for all jobs.
