The Dreaded DX11 Crash

This began last night, despite having no issues that morning. I've checked for drivers that need updating, I've done various scans that people told me to do, but no change.

I'm treating "Restore Game Data"/a clean install as a last resort. I don't want to deal with downloading that much data only to find out it's some other problem with my computer. And at that point, I'd rather uninstall for a time and try again when I feel like being actively subbed again; my sub has about a week left, and while there are things I'm looking forward to in 7.15, I don't feel that strongly about it, it's not a priority. It may be best to wait until I care enough to really bust my butt making the game work.

Just to pre-empt some of the fixes suggested when this problem comes up:

1. Fully updated windows and double-checked that audio and graphics drivers are up-to-date
2. Disabled all start-up programs and attempted to run a clean boot
3. Ran the game as Administrator
4. My computer is not overheating during these crashes
5. I have no mods installed
6. My game settings have limited framerate and generally graphics are as rudimentary as possible
7. Game is set to "Borderless windowed" already. Switching to windowed or fullscreen did nothing.

Please try the following:
- Update and reinstall the drivers for your graphics card and sound drivers (if applicable). Upon further review, it appears that your GPU [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti] driver was last updated on [11/25/2021]. As this is quite out of date, please try updating your graphics driver from the manufacturer's website.

Additionally, as it appears you may have both an integrated GPU [Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630] and a dedicated GPU [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti], please make sure that your system is defaulting to the correct one.

- Please try adjusting/lowering the resolution.
- Make sure that the Windows OS is fully updated.
- Disable Full Screen Optimizations. To disable this, please find the "ffxiv_dx11.exe" and right click it and select properties. Then under the compatibility tab there will be a check box labeled "Disable Full Screen Optimizations". Check it and click apply.
- Reinstall game.

Upon further review, it appears that your GPU [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti] driver was last updated on [11/25/2021]. As this is quite out of date, please try updating your graphics driver from the manufacturer's website.

Huh! I tried to be thorough in checking for outdated drivers, but I managed to overlook this. Thanks for pointing that out. In any case, updating it fixed nothing.

And now that I've attempted all the other fixes apart from "Reinstall game", I think it's time for me to uninstall it altogether, take a break, and hope the money I spend doesn't just go down the drain when I eventually resub and reinstall. Tomorrow is the last day of my sub, I'm kinda over it for now.

Over the holidays I'll be giving my gaming laptop some TLC, so hopefully if it's a hardware issue I'll give it a better shot at clearing up.

Months-later update, I resubbed a lil over a month ago and forgot to post til now. Game's working again, it was a hardware issue. My boyfriend stuck more RAM inside and things have been more or less fine since then.
