FF XIV randomly freezes when alt tabbed

Hello,

I'm having an issue with the game. I play on PC, windows 11 24H2, in borderless windowed mode because it helps so much for crafting and stuff.
My issue is seemingly occuring randomly and consists in the game basically freezing completely when i alt tab. The game audio cuts, and players see me with a disconnected indicator next to my name plate. It usually lasts a few seconds, during which i'm unable to tab back into the game if i want to.
It's especially annoying while crafting, because i'm using macros a lot and if the freeze happens, some of the macro inputs are being ignored, it's basically as if the game stopped responding completely.

My rig is more than enough to run the game : 7800X3D, RTX 4080, 32 Gigs of RAM, SSD etc...

I've already tried many basic troubleshooting methods, like reinstalling the game completely, clean installing my graphics card driver etc...

Any ideas on how to solve this or what my be the cause ? Thanks a lot

Hello,
Do you play in full screen or borderless window mode? I have nearly the same system and have no issues on borderless window mode.
Please uncheck synchnisation or limiting the fps in the graphic option.

Windows 24H2 have also some issues. Try de-/activate the optimizations for fullscreen in Settings > Display > Graphic > select Final Fantasy XIV.
Also disabling MPO helps a lot for me regarding freezing images when running discord in the background: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answ...tail/a_id/5157 (also applies to AMD cards!)

If issue persist, try disabling all overlays (discord, steam, etc.)
