I had the same issues (Windows 10 here) - tried the recommended things (I found SE's suggestions thoroughly unhelpful) changing .exe properties, 'uninstalling' Edge - 'reinstalling' Edge, rebooting,
no changes. Only after I had 'uninstalled' and 'reinstalled' Edge a 2nd time (possibly in a slightly different way) that things worked again. I hope that the other stuff I did won't screw me over in the future.

If we have no way to know Edge (which had never given me trouble before) or its libraries are 'in need of repair' or are fixed after fiddling with uninstalling/installing we will continue to suffer.
I think SE did not know about Edge 'issues' on many people's PCs. But now it's also their problem. I hope they will release more useful help before they start fiddling with their launcher again.
