Cosmic Exploration progression is poorly handled

Cosmic Exploration is a mess progression wise.

I had the day off due to covid and I'm glad I did because Omega finished all the base progression events in about 3 hours. My boyfriend was at work and was excited to take part in the base progression when he got home but now he can't and won't be able to have the same experience as people who didn't have the responsibility of work.

I mentioned to him that it is time gated to only progress so much each week, and he said it's likely the same thing will just happen again. All the progression will happen while him and others are at work, so his contribution means nothing.

I remember the devs saying they didn't like how people were locked out of the Diadem/Firmament stuff and wanted it to feel more community driven, but they are still actively punishing people who cannot be glued to their games and need to work.

The devs are obviously able to cap/timegate content, they do it with savage which is played by a small section of the player base so that it is not over and done with too quickly. So why not cap the content that is literally accessible to the entire game populace

Color me shocked that the development team that doesn't communicate with its players has no concept of how to implement community events.

Looking forward to the complaints in a few months from people who want to organize community forays into Forked Tower but can't cause the developers think players want to free-for-all it.

You didn't miss much, one of the quests was literally. Take empty battery from rover - charge battery in the middle - put charged battery back into rover. Repeat 50 times with 200 people or more.

Not exactly prime quest design, I hope the dev who made it got paid well and gets a fat pension, a company car and a kiss on the cheek from Yoshi P

Everything was already done before the west coast even got up for work on most servers while dead DCs will be stuck on the first stage forever. Absolutely top tier game design as usual lmao

TBH, even if you were off that day, it was all done by the end of morning, so you'd have to plan everything around the update, which I felt is the opposite of casual content, like imagine waking up at 8AM to just click on things for 3-4 hours straight.

yeah it's pretty disappointing. i was able to progress things early just because things worked out that way; not the case for my girlfriend, and goblin's already capped for the week it seems like. really sounds like a handful of miscommunications happened in all directions
