As much as I kind of knew all of this was going to happen, the silver lining is that because we are getting multiple planets in this content, the feedback (if they listen) might give them what they need to improve on this and build out the progression differently so high-pop servers can't just burn through these progression phases so quickly.

Scaling the goals to number of active players on the server can't be that hard, surely?

Agreed, shouldn't be hard at all.

My main struggle atm is none of it seems particularly interesting. And the gearing is strange too.

So it's boring and those of us that have jobs simply can't see the beginning stages due to this progressing within a couple of hours on the first day.

    How nice.

They should make it where the base updates at the end of the week so that everyone has a chance to contribute. I was disappointed in missing out after being really excited and I woke up mid morning (8 AM US Mountain Time) and they were completed in both Exodus and Seraph

It actually is hard, because what's the limit? If you have players that can play all day, all you do is add unnecessary length barriers and ultimately STILL would not achieve the goal people are aiming for, which is SLOWING DOWN the progression so they can "feel" like they are a part of it.

It's a non-issue ultimately, just that everyone complains about everything. The only true complaint that holds, is low pop servers having to meet the same progression points as high pops and obv failing. They can tune that sure, but you aren't going to do jack on a high pop server. If you aren't playing in month 1, we shouldn't inflate the time so that people in month 2 can play.

That's just a terribly stupid decision that would ultimately piss off far more players.

I'm disappointed that base progression is global, so because I logged in more than 3 hours after the weekly reset I did not get to enjoy any sense of that progression nor can I ever realistically contribute to the group project because I work when the weekly reset happens.

I was expecting it to be more like bozja, where "base progression" projects spawn once every 90 minutes or so, procced by global completion of stellar missions. Participating in your first base progression project each week should net you great rewards and give you a high contribution to the communal project. You should be able to then participate in more base progression projects that week for lesser rewards, so you could grind out your job if you wanted to.

Once the communal goal is reached, the base should only appear to progress when the player picks up the quest to watch the cutscene. The base's current appearance should differ from player to player, so there's no FOMO (not on day 1 and not 5 years later).

Adding my thoughts to the thread. I had practically the opposite experience to the big pop servers in Zurvan, OCE. We weren't even able to get past the first stage at peak hours.

People were hopeful the progress would carry over to the next fate so we might have a chance to finish, but it looks like we'll just be stuck at level 1 unless SE changes the way progression works.

I think the best way to fix this for both low pop and high pop worlds would be to scale the time it takes to progress with the amount of people in the fate. This is already done with difficulty levels for fates in Eureka and Bozja, so why not here as well?

Spoiler alert, they won't listen. This game needs a change of guard yesterday, Yoshi-P and his team have done wonders for the game over the years but everything they've done and released for a long time now has gotten a bad reception and the player count keeps going down.

Well, that sucks. I was hoping to take my time and enjoy the event since I thought it was supposed to be a sort of a casual mixture between Ishgardian Restoration and Doma Restoration. The former giving us a community driven event that would last weeks/months progression wise, while the story itself only going at each individual player's pace.

Eh, oh well. Just one more thing the devs will have to learn to do better next time. If that ever happens.

At least, I hope I can take the time to eventually unlock my Metal Gear mech mount from it at least without something annoyingly timegate related blocking my goal progression, right? ...Right??? :v

    Edit:

This is what Yoshi-P told about Cosmic exploration in PLL85 7.2 part 1...
    *Bangs head on desk*

Okay, if this is true. I feel kinda less bad, but this still shows a serious flaw in the dev team's community teamwork based content that really needs to be addressed. Either way, thank you for the context quote, Ukina.
