NA Housing Demolition?

Just gonna go ahead and say it-no one wants a house on Dynamis because its a nobody empty dead DC that people literally only travel to to tab out at a venue, or because they literally have no other choice via congestion issues everywhere else for like some kind of static activity. Nobody wants to start in Dynamis, let alone move there, and all the people that are in Dynamis constantly DC travel to actually play the game somewhere else. You can have a house there, but if you do, no one is coming to see you and you will never have neighbors ever.

Alright, so now that we have that out of the way,
the housing demolition timer needs to be turned back on ASAP, because at this point they are now failing on two fronts.
1. People that want a house cannot have one because no houses are open = Unsub waiting for demolition to start
2. People that already have a house see no reason to bother logging in now = Unsub because demolition hasn't started
This creates a lose lose situation, and they are no longer in the position to be ok with losing money.

A good solution in my eyes would be to dissolve Dynamis completely. Take its servers, and add them to the lists of the successful DCs. This way tons of houses are now available in Aether, Crystal, and Primal, and everyone who made the mistake of playing in Dynamis now actually has people to play with, and people who actively play the game can have a house.

Breaking up Dynamis would be great and add so many much needed plots to the big three NA DC. Also force all the submarine shacks to be demolished and only allow one private and one FC plot per world too to get rid of the wards owned by one person with alts and they are just empty eye sores. Since primal is the smallest of the big three NA DC, I suggest sending Seraph, Kraken and Hali there since those are the largest worlds in Dynamis. Then create a new world so that it would be 9 worlds distributed to the big three NA DC. I would love Seraph being in Primal as my OG main is in Exodus and would be great to be in the same DC for my main alt in Seraph :3

Demolition timer should either be always active or simply abolish it entirely. Or option 3: simply provide enough housing that people aren't afraid to lose their plot in the first place.

I had a hurricane knock out power in my area for weeks. Even though I got power back before my timer ran out, the last thing on my mind was "got to log back in to keep my virtual house." I was happy to keep my actual house. Sure, it would have stunk to have lost my virtual house - but in the greater scheme of things, if are you in an area where the auto-demolition timer is off because SE thinks a player might not be able to log in at all... losing your virtual house is the absolute least of your problems. And by the time you get back on your feet, you likely would still have another 3-6 months before any sense of normalcy returns.

Got a M House which i dont want, but i want my money back so i really really hope the timer will be activated soon again that i can get rid of the house after 40 days

Yea yea, what a stupid idea. I mean, why would we want every single player to be able to enjoy housing to its fullest?

We keep saying blizzard, but LOTRO online has neighborhoods and housing that spins up as needed as well. XIV has a lot of issues that really feel like they've been solved in other MMO's but the developers- and playerbase- are plugging their ears and saying "Nu-uh."


Also as someone on Marilith (I just moved this character over) it's not really a solution to just move to Dynamis. I'm happy on my small server but if I want to play or interact with friends, or just viti friends with cool rp spots and houses on Crystal it can be a massive PitA. This is worse for raiders who may HAVE to be on a specific server for those with statics.

Sure you can make an alt, but nothing minus a few mounts is account wide in this game and alts feel like a punishment where you have to redo all your progress you've already done.

I think it was also in response to the torrential flooding from hurricanes in the Southeastern US--which *is* still rebuilding. They've made some good progress, but still very much underway.

That was the original pause last fall. It expired in January, and then less than 24 hours later they turned it right back on again because parts of LA burned to the ground.

Haha yep, that's me! My main is now Katarh Mest on Lamia, although I rolled a Lalafell on XIV's Seraph server named Cat Who for old time's sake.

For that netbook, I worked around the internal storage constraints by installing FFXI to an SSD card, so FFXI itself became like a video game cartridge. Worked like a charm.

Eventually I got a better laptop, and that little netbook developed an allergy to windows, so I installed Linux on it and gave it to a friend's elementary school age kid to use for typing up homework. In Small World Universe, that same kid ended up becoming one of my husband's college students last year....

(These days I run FFXIV on a spiffy little HP Omen when I need to go portable.)
