I’ve met new players that are wrong about how to play their job and think they’re doing it right. I was personally like this when I started trying RDM in raids. And sometimes they just think “wow, this first floor of Savage is really hard” instead of realizing something is wrong with how they’re approaching their job. They only find out they’re playing wrong if they look up tutorials (but why look up tutorials for something you think you already know how to do?) or someone else points out their problems by using logs.

And then the new raider playing WHM doesn’t realize their problem is that they only have 60% uptime and then are missing out on 96 Glares in a ten minute fight. They think their problem is that they used Medica 3 four times are missing out on four Glares because of that, instead of realizing that if they focus on their movement and get more uptime then they’ll get 24 more Glares every time they improve by 10%. And this situation can’t be fixed by going into Stone Sea Sky.

Having no personal feedback during raids means you either have to already know the game and your job really well to know if you’re doing something wrong, or use third party tools. And new raiders often do not already know the details of the game and their job that well. They’ve probably only done MSQ, which barely taught them anything.
