[Suggestion] Add Party Finder Filter by Boss HP Percentage Reached

    Hello,

The current Party Finder (PF) system can be frustrating due to misinformation, inconsistent skill levels, and toxicity. A common issue is players joining "prog" parties while claiming more experience than they actually have. This creates unbalanced groups, wasted time, and hostility.

To improve the experience, I suggest a new Party Finder filter that allows players to set and filter by the highest boss HP percentage they’ve personally reached during a specific encounter.

    How It Works?

    - When creating a PF, the leader can set a "Minimum Progress Requirement" (e.g., 30%, 10%, 5% HP).
    - Only players who have reached that specific HP percentage or lower can see/join the PF.
    - This data is automatically tracked by the game, similar to how clear status is currently logged.

This ensures everyone in the group has legitimate, similar experience with the fight.

This feature empowers players, builds trust, and ultimately improves FFXIV’s community reputation. It's not about gatekeeping, it's about fair matchmaking and creating healthier party environments.

Thanks for reading, and I hope the devs consider implementing this quality-of-life improvement.

This would increase the server costs because it means, that the server has to store additional informations how much HP the player character has ever seen for every mob in the game. And if this small indie company spends the money for the servers then they propably cannot afford the creation of some new fancy NFT games anymore.

And the second thing is, if the PF leader can set a minimum standard for other players then the minimum standard will be propably too high in most cases. I know it from other games, that it is a very common practise. And i do not expect, that the FF14 PF players will be different in this case.

    Cheers

it would solve some of the prog lying however, people will still get carried and say X % of a boss is their prog point even tho they were warming up the floor the entire time.

How about people start being honest instead of selfish aholes? That would be great.

I've thought of this exact idea before (probably mentioned it in my thousands of posts somewhere). The only difference is that I think the game should only track it as your progress if the entire party was alive. The moment the first party member dies or gets a damage down, it should say that is your progress. That will prevent situations like "damage down strat" being forced on tanks in P1S against their will because the DPS lied about their ability to do a mechanic.

Maybe it could also do it per role (tank, healer, melee, ranged magical, ranged physical).

I wish they would do it, but SE takes 10+ years to add QoL like that.

Wouldnt change anything, i can get a lucky hit to reach certain % threehold and still dont understand dogshit, you can reach a mech point death on the ground, sadly there is no possible way to go against prog lying, the only way you have is to kick after 2 fails to prevent further shit, so if you see someone struggling and failing 2-3x in a row just kick him without any further time wasted
