Its not supposed to be grass, its supposed to be weeds. The grass is the flat green stuff on the ground.

Uh, no... Why would they replace weeds with tall grass when they clearly wanted weeds? Weeds look pretty crappy even in real life, so if they looked all pretty here, well...that would just be unrealistic, no?

Look some of them are weeds and some are FLOWERING PLANTS. IN ANY CASE 2D shitty weeds/flowers/grass are going to look better using the aforementioned technique. Thank you for signing up for intelligence class today.

Weeds grow flowers too, you know. MOST plants grow flowers. Its actually pretty rare when they don't. So seeing some crappy flowering weeds is not surprising, and they'd still look crappy. And are you really going to be spending that much time ingame, admiring the GROUND, no matter how it looks? I think not. Thank you for signing up for common sense class today.

Except Xenoblade is worse because it has flat grass on the ground with tall grass on top, which doesn't make any sense. At least in XIV, you can see from pretty much ALL the maps, that grass is so small, it all pretty much looks flat, and that only substantial plants like weeds and shrubs and flowers poke up away from the ground.

I agree, take out everything in this horrible game and explore the world of grass please.
New class/job suggestion too: Johnny Appleseed/Scotts Spokesperson.

Either way, Neptune's argument is invalid, as Xenoblade only looks decent because its using stick straight things that would be flat in real life as well, and thus they look okay, where as FFXIV has gone creative and added a variety of plantlife which has various shapes besides straight and flat, and makes it slightly more obvious how 2D it is. All Neptune is arguing for is to replace plant variety with plain old grass. No thanks.

I think he's asking to replace those clearly 2D plants in the 2.0 screens with something more full, alive, and camera constrained.Either way, Neptune's argument is invalid, as Xenoblade only looks decent because its using stick straight things that would be flat in real life as well, and thus they look okay, where as FFXIV has gone creative and added a variety of plantlife which has various shapes besides straight and flat, and makes it slightly more obvious how 2D it is.
