It doesn't matter.
Besides Xenoblade in comparison is low quality and thats not a Wii screenshot, it probably comes from a emulator. Its hard to say what FF14 grass will look like with transparency AA enabled.
Regards
hard to tell what it will look like with delusion enabled
But xenoblade don't have to deal with hundreds of npc simultaneusly and a internet network, it's an offline game.
Btw the grass right now it's the last of their problems, and those screen have a poor quality. I'll just deal with that grass, it's the less important thing ever
Um, it's less important that you learn English and actually care about something like how crappy that grass looks to people taking a look at this game when it's a relatively simple fix (hardest part would be hitting the delete key on their existing grass locations). Or maybe Find and Replace? lolBut xenoblade don't have to deal with hundreds of npc simultaneusly and a internet network, it's an offline game.

Grass textures and models not gonna develop by themselves. And you should find some better argument then my crappy englishUm, it's less important that you learn English and actually care about something like how crappy that grass looks to people taking a look at this game when it's a relatively simple fix (hardest part would be hitting the delete key on their existing grass locations). Dude whatever! It doesn't matter what it is, because it's going to look better if it uses the Xenoblade technique. So your point is that because grass isn't grass (or whatever) it should still look crappy? And your second point is that because you won't spend that much time admiring it it should still look crappy? WOW! You are like so DRIVEN to excellence!Weeds grow flowers too, you know. MOST plants grow flowers. Its actually pretty rare when they don't. So seeing some crappy flowering weeds is not surprising, and they'd still look crappy. And are you really going to be spending that much time ingame, admiring the GROUND, no matter how it looks? I think not. Thank you for signing up for common sense class today.

It's be a while since I've used Maya, but if memory serves, the hair/fur generators work using relatively high-poly surfaces not billboarded textures; great for pre-rendered movies or cutscenes, but not really practical for the current discussion.
As for the discussion at hand, I think it's pretty much up to each person to decide if this is an upgrade or downgrade. In terms of just the grass and it's raw graphical prowess, probably a downgrade. But personally, those real-time shadows make up for it for me. Those are some of the best looking (not realistic, but eye pleasing) shadows I've seen in any game. My only complaint would be the lack of self-cast shadows, but those are notoriously hard on processors, so I'll let that slide.
Yes, lets compare an offline games with online games.
SE please make character as good as FF13 bc v2.0 going to look worse, bring back crystal engine.
