Voice Chat Option?

was wondering if Square Enix would consider implementing a voice chat for the game kinda like a skype or ventrilo variant it would most certainly make communication more fluid.

I'm not sure how this could be implemented but could possibly start with sort of individual player chat channels like we could say each person and linkshell has is own chat channel.

way it could work would be Player A invites Player B and C to Player A's channel and they can talk to coordinate or just chat it up.

as well make user personal settings where you can set a hot key to unmute your microphone when pressed.

possibly square enix can limit this voice chat function to 16 people or a full alliance and for a linkshell chat you can choose to either a join voice chat or just see typed main idea behind this is ease of communication and i really hope people like this idea and square enix takes it under consideration.

They said no due to language and harassment that they could not control over voice chat not sure if they change there mind or not but for now it's a no.

well i was honestly pondering your post and ffxiv's current rating is RP-T meaning rate pending for teen or to teen, but also said language animated blood violence and suggestive themes.

which in turn reads to me the excuse they cant control harassment is a scapegoat.

as well if you read my suggestion they could input a system where people have to A be invited to a voice chat and accept (can probably add the first person to initiate the chat is the leader can control ousting / adding) or the person has to accept the invite to hear what people are saying. i see no issue about harassment with this if you don't like someone you don't talk to them as well they can make it a part of the /blacklist or /block i don't remember what it was in ffxiv that if someone is blocked they cant send you voice chat requests or if they are in a chat your in you can't hear them.

Other issue is finding a way for voice chat to work with pc and ps3 so they can talk together top of that it's not much of a harassment on the NA but the JP side it seem to me at least that the JP don't want to be in a party with few NA and they can't understand with voice chat or us understand them. Again that two other scapegoat i heard from yoshi-p not wanting voice chat i think even tanaka said the something so you have to use mumble,vent,ts3 too one day they add it or they may never add it. Seeing how wow had this and no one use it they just stay with mumble,ts,vent and i think that other reason waste of money for something people many not even use due to other 3 party voice chat.
