I did finish Pillars of Eternity 1 and FAR: Lone Sails recently, which were interesting games.
For now I am coasting around with a friend at Abiotic Factor and idly mine stuff at ΔV: Rings of Saturn.

It's always funny to see people complain about the game like it killed their dog while having an active subscription.
It's funny how I can already predict that there will be an avalanche of players saying "FF14 is saved" when they release Shades' Triangle.
You people have been locked in a cage for so long the moment they let in a little sunshine on a cloudy day through a small 3-inch hole, you cry out to the gods at CBU3, "Lo! We are saved! The gods have given us salvation!"
Never mind that it will be worse than previous iterations and it will have less effort put into it. But who would even know? This playerbase is mostly comprised of new players from late ShB and EW now. No one remembers a time when you were let out of the cage.
It's so hilarious to see that people are calling M6S peak content. Wow, the moment you had to heal a little and tanks had to move a little and turn on one single brain cell to do what tanks in other MMOs always had to do, you call it "peak content".
Do you even realize your Stockholm Syndrome. Are you so abject and malnourished that you jump up in joy at being given a boiled overcooked flank steak instead of turd for once? "Oh! We are eating good this tier", they say, as they're stuffed with uncooked rice fried with egg shells and spoiled ham.
Why don't you quit this game and play something else? Go out and eat real food.
It's good to know you care so much about the gaming habits of the FF14 community. Next time, maybe try not insulting all FF14 players in the process.
Tsundere lil' Cinnamon bun. <3
Fax My Brother! Spit Your Shit Indeed!
I do try to find an alternative MMO but always end up coming back to FFXIV
Try WoW and thank god FFXIV is not WoW, it feel like another job, got excluded because not meta
GW2, did enjoy it for a while but the “breaking traditional tank healer dps trio” still found it confusing after getting get alts to level cap.
SWTOR is probably a the longest MMO I play outside FFXIV, the combat and dungeon are very typical but their MSQ is truly amazing. Stop after they move to “free to play”. Which turn out bigger cash grab than monthly sub.
PSO2, had some high hope as I am big fan of PSO and PSOBB. Doesn’t quite got the same magic.
Korean MMO, mindless grind, stop a day and you will never able to catch up.
I take break from FFXIV from time to time, treating it like single player game with online function and come back after some content update or expansion. I would love to try out another MMO which give me similar true causal content
That's a really funny thought
Paid opposition
So kind of like black desert online? I never really got into it, but that's what came to mind when you say zergswarm
Since iirc it's mostly active combat and kind of reminded me of the dynasty warrior games lol
I only mention biting off more than they can chew because I recall seeing their plans for different classes in the game, because it was a pretty big sheet of what class can become what depending on what the player chooses as a subclass.
I do hope you're right, because MMORPGs are some of my favorite games to play and it'd be sad to see them fizzle out. I've been playing a variety of them since middle school, I think.MMORPG is not dead as a genre.
The reason you don't see many new ones coming out is money. They're extremely expensive to make. If someone doesn't have the personal wealth and/or backing investors, they're not going to be able to get a MMORPG into a release state that will satisfy players.
Part of that is because there are so many old MMORPGs still running, they've built up hundreds if not thousands of hours of content for players to do. Players expect all MMORPGs to have that amount of content.
A new MMORPG is not going to be able to provide the amount of content a player is expecting at release. Even old MMORPGs aren't able to provide as much new content as players will demand when a content update is released. Looking at these forums and the WoW forums shows that. Players just will not be satisfied at the same time they refuse to go play other games to get their satisfaction.
There's no point in creating a new MMORPG if it's not going to get a large enough player base that will stick around to cover the expense of making the game.
Our neighborhood troll does have one good point. We all need to be playing other games to see what else is out there and to get enough new content to sate our gaming appetite. A single game is not going to do it once we've consumed what it has to offer.
There you go, straight from the clown's mouth:
Because nothing says "mentally stable genius" like whining for years on a forum about a game they don't even play![]()
