FF14 players are content with the slop because they barely play other games

It's funny how I can already predict that there will be an avalanche of players saying "FF14 is saved" when they release Shades' Triangle.

You people have been locked in a cage for so long the moment they let in a little sunshine on a cloudy day through a small 3-inch hole, you cry out to the gods at CBU3, "Lo! We are saved! The gods have given us salvation!"

Never mind that it will be worse than previous iterations and it will have less effort put into it. But who would even know? This playerbase is mostly comprised of new players from late ShB and EW now. No one remembers a time when you were let out of the cage.

It's so hilarious to see that people are calling M6S peak content. Wow, the moment you had to heal a little and tanks had to move a little and turn on one single brain cell to do what tanks in other MMOs always had to do, you call it "peak content".

Do you even realize your Stockholm Syndrome. Are you so abject and malnourished that you jump up in joy at being given a boiled overcooked flank steak instead of turd for once? "Oh! We are eating good this tier", they say, as they're stuffed with uncooked rice fried with egg shells and spoiled ham.

Why don't you quit this game and play something else? Go out and eat real food.

nah I agree, I tried to hold onto the game for a long time and I've been putting my efforts into other games this year. Currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles X - a singleplayer game that feels more like an MMO than this game does.

Can't say I know what people are talking about for M6S because I haven't logged in at all for 7.2 aside from quickly checking on something for a friend, then immediately logging out as the apathy set in.

Was holding out hope for shades' but after the live letters I won't be bothered to resub. I'll just play the rest of this expansion in the month or two leading up to the next one if the next expansion hype gets to me again like it did for Dawntrail. Rn though, this was the last content drop I was hopeful for.

I often actually see that the comparison is with MMOs.. But honestly with the way FFXIV runs its content pipeline for long-form, and with how anti-MMO some of the features are in FFXIV... You get just as about as good an MMO experience playing some traditional open-world single player games or general multiplayer games.

With XIV currently I feel like I am comparing it more to general gaming than what I am comparing it against MMOs specifically... Because the MMO-factor just doesn't feel good right now, and I don't think Shade's Triangle will fix that.

What sucks is that I have been "playing other games" a lot since 6.1. If I log into FFXIV, its just for a few PVP matches before I swap games again, and my trust in Occult Crescent (let alone whatever 8.0 may bring) is greatly diminished. Though really, its hard letting a game go that you have played for well over a decade. But I am not so blind as to not see what kind of slop CS3 is serving here.

These days I spent so much more time in games like Darktide, Deep Rock Galactic, Monster Hunter Wilds or Helldivers 2, which are a blast to play with other people, a team of friends or randoms. And thats not to speak of the gameplay depth of some of those (Darktide especially), or the single player games I play that offer a better experience than "watch 4 hours of cutscene for every 20 minutes of gameplay".

Ive reached the acceptance phase like I did with WoW before I quit. When a better MMO comes out, Ill hop out. Nothing better out there atm for roleplay at least.
This games gameplay is hot garbo and very held back and the lack of care and innovation also with the story and lore and worldbuilding is showing as much it did with WoW.

M6S is supposedly the revolutionary fight FFXIV needed... With fixed patterns for everything, including adds. The only part diverging from DDR is the cat jumps.
