SE casting hate towards BLM players for changes they didn't want or ask for

This current raid tier sees SMN with a whole 9 clears of M8S, while PCT has 129, BLM at 79 and RDM at 41. Historically, first few weeks has been where BLM gets little use because of its difficulty, then it balances itself out slightly. So the fact THIS is what has happened, wow.

Now what has happened, SE has made BLM arguably the easiest caster AND the most powerful caster in a single patch.

I honestly am shocked (not). I can't wait for my sub to run out.

Also I'm writing this while doing the first 1.5 minutes of M5S because nothing happens and I need something to do.

They likely made it easiest and strong so people can pretend that the changes were for the better, people generally speaking only go towards whats strongest outside visual presence these days because theirs no actual reason to choose one job over another. (Only case I can think of is rez caster vs no rez high damage caster)

What better way of inflating play rates by making it so above pictomancer where your only real choice is Black mage or red mage. It's sort of funny how picto is doing pretty well playrate wise in spite of being borderline useless as black mage now takes it's niche as the high damage caster with no rez.

"easy to play" jobs haven't actually been as popular as people make them out to be, a lot of people just follow the meta, if people enjoyed easy jobs summoner would be way more popular

This is not my main character my main has every job but bard at 100, as you can see i was actually mid leveling BLM (from 90 to 100) on this before I decided not to after seeing the black mage changes, because I wanted to gear up black mage and my tanks this tier because the gearing system doesn't let me do both, I don't even use reddit? It's pretty obvious why people are playing black mage currently because its the new trendy job that is also doing way better then black mage

What an insanely immature response this was, not only did you not discuss the points made by the person you quoted, you also set a precedent of outright rejecting any discussion and opinion of people who do not have evidence of playing Black Mage on their forum character. Firstly, everyone is allowed to have an input on changes, as the topic is rather subjective, and second you don't get to gatekeep a topic based on how much a person plays, or plays the class at all. If you want to disagree with a topic, do so. But it seems to me you're the bored one speaking out from your behind by picking fights with someone who shared their opinion.

I also agree with some of their points made, their is much historical data to prove people change with the META and play what they feel is either best for them, or best for the group. And at the moment, the easy use of BLM along with it's high output makes it a better choice than other casters and so it will be most played. The same was true for SMN in EW back when it was competitive in damage, even if not the absolute best at it. It doesn't take a PhD as a BLM to connect the dots here and see the correlation.

Thank you for your post, Pretty much agree with what you've said here, I may have got pretty annoyed myself in previous posts because it came across as "well your forum character doesn't have a black mage at 100 so you clearly don't know what your talking about!" (As I've said before, this character has been fairly inactive and I was leveling black mage on this character with the intent of taking it into savage so i dont fall behind on gear, before announced changes but I decided not to after seeing recent changes).

I find it so weird that they would stalk my profile and go onto sites to check my characters savage activity to try and prove a point? like "oh this character has black mage at 94 clearly it's impossible that they don't have more then one character" I just wish they would have actually engaged with my post instead.

I personally don't think you need to be some master of black mage to have a opinion on it in the first place, but the fact is I have brought it to savage and some ext's (not ultimate's, but I'm more towards the "midcore"). I'm likely not the worlds greatest black mage expert honestly, but I did enjoy the job for years before the rework.

I'm fine with people disagreeing with me here, some people have moved to black mage because its more easy/friendly, I don't deny it's played a part into it being more popular (Though we don't really know the exact numbers of people leaving it vs playing it because they find it actually fun/better), but we also have to look at other factors into play rates, black mage being pretty much a top tier caster which isn't hard to pickup will also have a massive impact in play rate. But theirs also a lot of people who don't really even want to engage with caster as a whole like myself anymore I enjoyed it for the long cast times and positioning dependence, the reward I felt for playing it well. I personally think they should put more skill expression into jobs again like black mage, maybe I should have worded it a bit more calmy (I don't know) I'm very pessimistic about the current state of the game and voice my opinion often.

I mean unfortunately, those numbers seem higher than other tiers.

PCT is still the new job, though I wonder with the nerfs how many people will migrate back to SMN and RDM.
