    Quest rewards

    Dear SE,

    Please offer more incentives to help others for quests that we completed before, this world isn't all that nice and dandy where we'll help everyone when we have the time.

    Even 1k seals for helping Kill a Raven quest will drives enough ppl to help returning players that have issues gathering enough ppl to clear quest, i don't give a fying fk if it doesnt fit lore perfectly, what matters is this returning players and what comes down next few years when we don't get constant wave of new players and that little new players will have issues finishing this quests.

    Please don't repeat what makes FFXI terrible.

    While I'm usually at the forefront of the "You shouldn't require a reward to help people!" crowd, I really must agree with this.

    Providing such an incentive would be a wonderful means of helping everyone, even if the reward is small.

    I support this message. The current system punishes players who can't do new content in the first 12-24 hours.

    Awesome idea... and another incentive is to implement something like the Mentor system in FFXI but which much better tweaks (cuz it really didn't end up achieving its potential and after a while, people just stopped putting the "M" up next to their name)

    Going by Chardrizard's idea, the mentor system could be incorporated into the Grand Companies system. For instance (just simplifying): The more you help newer players on quests, the more "mentor points" you can earn which can then be turned in for something like seals?

    An incentive would certainly be welcome. But really, as trite and cliche as the saying "helping is it's own reward" is, it kind of stands in MMOs, and I really wish more people agreed. MMOs are, fundamentally, a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, I love playing them, but as of right now (yes with the advent of legalized RMT this may change), there are absolutely no redeeming values to playing an MMO. It's just something you do to entertain yourself and have fun when you're not doing something else.

    What makes one way of wasting time any better or worse than another, if both are fun? Everyone has to define for themselves what makes the game fun for them. Even given that, there are so many reasons repeating content can be fun beyond getting a tangible reward: being with friends, the fight itself is fun, the thrill of the challenge.

    A tangible reward for helping out would be nice, but I don't think it should be necessary.

    I actually really do agree with this 100% the way it is currently is why I didn't bother playing XI anymore when I returned...nobody wanted to help with quests because nothing was in it for them. I think seals or even just novelty items or hell even just an achievement would make people want to do it...I think they will fix it up in 2.0 *crosses fingers*

    You do know XI actually often gave rewards to people repeating quests right? Hell CoP was full of rewards for helping others.

    There was? what was it? i don't remember wanting to help anyone with airship fight or the 4 totem because of how much pain in the ass they were.

    Yeah, I have to agree with OP here. Incentive to encourage cooperation would be very welcome.
