You realize there are multiplayer games out there. If its not about MMOs you wanna tell us then to compare SINGLEPLAYER Games with MMOs? Because why should i go and see PEAK CONTENT like you said in a Singleplayergame? It literally doesnt matter at all if a Singleplayer Game has Peak Content, its a normal thing that you cant have the same "peak content" in a MMO then you can have in a Singleplayer Game
M6S needs to be balanced because of a few things wrong with it. Because the hardest part of the fight is an adds phase aoe damage is important for this fight.
I don't even play either of these classes but, Viper has such high aoe damage it far surpasses any of the other jobs, almost to the point where people say taking 2 vipers is better for the melee slots. The second problem is MCH has the lowest dps that people started to lock the MCH spot in PF because the dps check on the adds is so tight. I think some class balancing needs to be done.
After grinding out this fight several hours more, I've come to loathe the gimme cat RNG and general AoE imbalance more then anything else.
It's just inherently harder to meet the checks if the former opts to keep avoiding the cleave pile by jumping to one of the ranged DPS or the OT and it makes me wish the thing had a preference for targeting players that are near others so you actually have control over it.
As someone who cleared it week 1 with a random pug group I liked it. I know people are having trouble with it but that’s the point of savage. For it to be challenging. I had to spam heals on the off tank with the double Yans. That’s something I don’t think I’ve ever had to do in a savage fight before which was sort of fun.
I enjoyed how different the fight was.
And even if I hadn’t beat it. I would rather have something hard to prog than an easy fight. Gear will make it trivial. It doesn’t have to be easy on the first week.
Sadly the people who propagate that thread can't actually, or won't clear savage and ultimates so the "strike" will continue until they make the rotations more complex, aka stormblood era healers with multiple dots and more offensive buttons, that nobody used in casual, so they got rid of them. It was nice catching this thread though as opposed to the usual forums reason for existing as an echo chamber for people who can't play to complain.Gear will make this a thing of the past, but for this week only, M6S is a fantastic gauntlet of coordination and personal decision making unlike XIV has had in a long time outside Ultimate. I want to say hell yeah SE good job even if this wasn't the intended tuning. I also want to encourage players to run it because it will make you a better raider. Do it in PF.
Maybe we can finally put a lid on the 1000+ pages of healerstrike "gimme more to do" whining and complaints. Here's your answer fellow healers, enjoy it.
The 14 forums are where awful players go to yell into the void the only issue is that the void then listens.
I really like the fight, it's definetly a change to M5s which I appreciate a lot.
And the memes are gold.
It's not challenging for the right reasons with how lopsided the current AoE balancing is, though. As someone who cleared it week 1 with a random pug group I liked it. And no, "gear will make it trivial" does not excuse how much better VPR and DNC are at the phase right now. The balance should never be bad enough that people are locking PF slots to certain jobs, and even AST is significantly advantaged by virtue of being the only healer with spammable targeted AoE vs. PB given how the jabberwocks force you into the timeout corner.

I personally hate these hard dps checks in Savage, because it make you feel guilty, if you don't have pentamelded crafted gear. In ultimate it is fine, because crafted gear is not bis in ultimate. You are not forced to grind 30M gil to have advantage during first weeks.
A full set of 740 crafted gear was 9mil on release. Pentamelding costs about 4mil depending on RNG. Your numbers are off. This also assumes you have no uncapped tomes, no materia shards, and no crafters or crafter friends.
Full sets are down to 5.5mil as of this morning and materia has similarly fallen. It will likely continue to fall to about 3.3mil if trends follow the last tier until next savage drop.
Source: I was making and selling sets for the last four tiers
- Also if you don't care about parse, pentameld your left side and weapon (or better, get the ex weapon!), get x4 normal mode jewlery and a Tome ring week 1. You will lose about 1-2% dps, but the cost becomes effectively halved. Jewlery is the first stuff you replace on clears and the cheapest tome pieces, as well as giving the lowest stats- so it's the most cost effective pieces to cheap out on.
Doing this I can still reliably hit high greens/low blues week 1- Which is perfectly fine for me
Mind, I don't generally Week 1 an entire tier. Don't have time for alarm clocking.
