    Hi Rukkirii,

Thanks for the update. Like what others have said, I think it's great that 2.0 will be allowing those players who just level 1 Craft to be able to try for HQ Items.

But I hope you can pass along our concerns that if it's *just* 1 Craft that's needed to get all the benefits ("craft weaponskills / abilities") to HQ an Item, and that there's Zero benefit in leveling multiple Crafts to get an edge on HQ'ing, it probably undermines many aspects of the game for some:

    1. Having just 1 Craft worth of skills to be able to HQ (and not gaining any advantage in leveling more than 1 Craft for HQ'ing) would take away from those dedicated Disciples of the Hand that have spent time leveling more than 1 Craft to be the best they could be (and help them get a better chance at HQ'ing things).

    2. It would also further simplify (too much) Crafting in general. Right now, with the extreme amounts of EXP you can get (with Rested EXP Bonus and the Engineering Manuals (to Boost EXP)), it's really easy and fast to level up a craft. Having it so you have everything you need to HQ via 1 Craft would probably make HQ'ing and the process of Crafting in general, even more trivial, to the point that there's nothing special about a "Master Craftsman" (someone who really took the time to level multiple DoH classes and choose the right Crafting Abilities to challenge and make HQ items).

It's good to balance it for casual and/or mainstream, so everyone gets a chance for HQ'ing, but if it's truly simplified to be just "1 Crafting Class = 100% of what you need to HQ," that might be too simplified.

    Thanks~

I'm all for this change. The current game makes people rely far too much on leveling EVERYTHING to be an effective player, to include battle classes. It doesn't matter to me that I have almost every DoH to 50, it matters that they make it better for everyone in the long run. It's not like you still wont be able to level all your DoH's to 50 yourself, but now you wont have to if that isn't your desire.

Pretty sure this is another thing that will upset the "50 in everything" group, but that's ok with me Upset away!

I don't understand this kind of mentality.

You can be a good player with 1 class leveled and a better player with more classes leveled.
What's wrong with spending more effort to get better returns? That's character progression there.

You can learn programming in Java only and get a job. Learn C++ too and you have better chances of finding a job. That's just how the world works. (Replace "programming" with whatever real life skill, just about everything works)

Because unless you just started playing after they did the whole class reform/job adding, it was a lot worse than it is now with the need to level multiple classes to be effective.

I could have had every crafter at 50 and still have been happy with this change. Being 50 in everything means you can make anything you want, so you're not limited to being that guy with a 50 craft and 45 in everything else and can't reliably HQ the top tier recipes for the lower crafts.

Crafting in FF14 is, like every other mmo pure RnG.
Besides Culmination every skill locks out great success or has no effect on if they fail farm you in to the ground. Even Culmination prenerfs you. I can get 100+ with a careful with no influence. Max I ever got for culmination is 70.
    - Use fit for a King get 3 fails, you get no more quality than if you fluked one great success.

The only difference with FF14 over other single percent RnG is they hide it better. I had a straw hat to 81% chance of HQ.

That is just bad luck. The RnG range can be pretty large.

Mine can go from 90 to 150.

Yep. just bad luck. All 'Super successes' vary in how much they are going to give you no matter if you use a guarantee-super success skill. Normal success guaratee skills all prevent super success of any kind too. And btw, use culmination - careful during prismatic glow for best results.
